Nonsense. He was contracted to work for Everton for 11 years, and that's exactly what he did. He must have done a decent job as well, as the third biggest club in world football poached him having observed his performance at Everton.

He made the comments when he was working for Manchester United, he had stopped working for Everton by then. They were disrespectful comments but I think I'm just about over it by now. And I wouldn't let it get in the way of Everton choosing to employ someone who is actually capable of managing Everton.

That's because I put the wellbeing of Everton FC ahead of schoolgirl crushes, or little gripes about a few comments that were made when he was being employed by a COMPETITOR of ours.
You Cant think much of everton then if you wanna go back to being plucky little everton, the davey moyes show.

It was route one, direct football.

He had Everton pegged as that and for good reason: apart from a handful of occasions we were predictable. That;s not revision, and I doubt too many would see it as anything other than an accurate description of what consistently happened. We were a reflection of the manager - basic, no nonsense, no style, no frills....and that;s leaving aside the issue of his contemptible and unforgivable behaviour.

Moyes mixed it up, which is what you need to do in order to succeed in the Premier League. He was criticised at United for an over reliance of wing play. Manchester United do not covet the services of managers that are know for only playing route one football, at all.

Although, that won't stop you from revising and arguing that they do.

Getting SAFs blessing for a coronation isn't being 'poached'. It's just not. It was the biggest mistake of Ferguson's football life. It almost destroyed his legacy to have saddled United with such a poor manager. Moyes' obvious brand of football was a shambles at a club operating at that level. Let's not mince words: he was humiliated. He's now out in Spain banished from the English game because of it.

The comments can and never will be forgotten. They cant be minimized as 'disrespectful'. They went to the very core of an attitude he held about Everton: that we were beneath a club like United and that the natural order is for us to shut up and feed the monster when it came calling on our doorstop. For any manager to have expressed that would have been unacceptable...for a manager who spent 11 years here it was vile. He can never come back. He's toxic and always will remain so.

Ha ha ha, what adjectives do you think are currently being used to describe Everton? 'Plucky' certainly isn't one of them.

I guess 'boring' and 'negative' are appropriate adjectives at this current time, as would an adjective/noun that begins with an S and ends with an E.

We didn't succeed though. That's just it. We survived in a respectable position. Dont confuse that with success.

it took Martinez one season to show Moyes how it was done and run up a points total in excess of 70 points...run up because he played bold attacking football. Whatever is happening this season, that will never be erased.

He was laughed out of town after taking United from first to seventh with a similar net spend to Martinez last summer. Louis Van Gaal has been provided with well over 200% more cash than Moyes was, and he is still in danger of finishing outside the top four.

He took a set of natural born winners and turned them into a cowaring pile of [Poor language removed]. Going to places like newcastle and saying he hopes they can match them, or saying they should aspire to liverpool. Playing the worst brand of football most UTD fans had seen in decades. Paying way over the buyout clause for mop head. Your right, he wasnt laughed outve town, he was fkin chased outve town

Lolz.

So Moyes dragging Everton out of the doldrums, and changing them into regular European contenders over a ten year period with a very minimal net spend shouldn't be classed as success. But a singular honeymoon season in which Martinez took over a team that was used to finishing between 5th and 8th, and had them finish....5th, should be classed as success lol

In fact, apparently Martinez is 'showing Moyes how it is done' lol

Could you imagine if Martinez had inherited the same squad as Moyes did in 2002? Christ, I'm kind of glad we didn't have Martinez 'showing us how it is done' back then.

Whilst I agree, that square headed balloon they currently have has arguably done a worse job.

That's right. Chased out of town for taking United from first to seventh after being given a similar net spend to Martinez last summer. Martinez has taken us from 5th to 14th and it could get worse, and is responsible for our worst league performance in 80 years, and what are Evertonians doing?

There are many of your posts that I don't necessarily agree with, but this posting ain't one of them. I might not have worded it quite so strongly, but I agree with the sentiment you express. Moyes did disrespect Everton and more or less from the moment he agreed to take the OT job, the idea of him returning to Everton is laughable.
