Lolz.

So Moyes dragging Everton out of the doldrums, and changing them into regular European contenders over a ten year period with a very minimal net spend shouldn't be classed as success. But a singular honeymoon season in which Martinez took over a team that was used to finishing between 5th and 8th, and had them finish....5th, should be classed as success lol

In fact, apparently Martinez is 'showing Moyes how it is done' lol

Could you imagine if Martinez had inherited the same squad as Moyes did in 2002? Christ, I'm kind of glad we didn't have Martinez 'showing us how it is done' back then.
Regular European contenders? 4 times in 11 years.

Is that your definition of regular?

Moyes is what he is: a dullard who couldn't win a big game....then left and thought he could ridicule the club that employed him for 11 years.

You'd want that character back?

Lol.

Fair enough.

I can only LOL at anybody wanting Moyes back tho.

Why?

If it's because his comments hurt your feelings than fair enough. But the man has shown that he is very capable of managing Everton. If the person specification for our new manager is predominantly based on ability, then I think Moyes ticks all the boxes.

I think you need to look up what contention means. And yes, we were regularly in contention for the European places. Your determination to deny this clearly demonstrates your rather weird agenda/infatuation with Martinez.

Capable of managing yes, but winning a trophy with Everton... Not as long as he's got a hole in his a55.

I think the word infatuation belongs to you.

Rest assured, Moyes will NEVER be back in that Everton manager's chair.

Nonsense. He was contracted to work for Everton for 11 years, and that's exactly what he did. He must have done a decent job as well, as the third biggest club in world football poached him having observed his performance at Everton.

He made the comments when he was working for Manchester United, he had stopped working for Everton by then. They were disrespectful comments but I think I'm just about over it by now. And I wouldn't let it get in the way of Everton choosing to employ someone who is actually capable of managing Everton.

That's because I put the wellbeing of Everton FC ahead of schoolgirl crushes, or little gripes about a few comments that were made when someone was being employed by a COMPETITOR of ours.

He didn't need to make those comments, it was arrogant and uncalled for.

I am sure if your missus sacked you off for somebody she told you was far superior, you might be a bit reluctant to go back to her when she was dumped by aforementioned dreamboat! I know I would :D

It's called morals mate, I know a lot of people don't have them anymore but some people do.

That said, I don't disregard the job he did for Everton at all, in fact he was great for us. However, those comments made even my staunch Man U fan mates a bit shocked and one even commented they were disgraceful.

You think the word infatuation belongs to me? What on earth are you talking about?

I'm not arsed if Moyes never returns to Everton. I just think that he meets the person specification for our soon to be vacant managers position. I'd certainly be offering him an interview if I was in charge.

I was pro-Moyes, for much of his time at the Club, near the end I had started to think we had reached a glass ceiling, his work in the transfer windows were superb, we were a hard to beat feared club, who mostly failed at the higher reaches of things, he wasnt able to find that 10%, he lacked a certain something.

Im not gonna re-write history like some, at times we played some great stuff, sometimes it was dire, but he knew how to grind out results, his comments after leaving werent great, but he wasnt Evertons manager anymore, so he had to do what was "right" for his current club.

He wasnt given a chance at United, he messed up big time by binning off the most successful backroom staff in the modern era, but I personally think Rio and his bunch of merrymen had deemed him unworthy from day 1 and his signing of Fellaini, for big money, from a "small" club like Everton certainly didnt give him ANY leeway from the cockney monkeys that are "United Fans".

So, do I think Moyes is a good manager? Yes, I do, nobody else could have taken Everton from where they were, to where he left them, NOBODY, but at the same time I dont think hes the right man for now, if he came back he would have a huge majority of the fanbase on his back from day 1 and sadly I think we or he would still lack that 10% needed.

Moyes popping back would be just boring.

Despite what he said, how we did or didnt play, or anything at all to do if he was good/bad/indifferent.

Just boring.

More boring that what is currently being served up? Is it possible to get more boring than what has been on show this season?
