Who could replace Martinez ?

So Everton:

  • Employ a new manager last season who comes in and revolutionises our play and gets a record 72 points playing great football praised by everyone in the game
  • They then have a poor run of form the following season and sack said manager in January.
  • Said manager was undermined by players in revolt calculating they can get their mate in the managers job so can they do a bit of running, weights, then off to their xboxes, gambling addiction and golf with the other lads....
Calling all exciting young European managers with fresh ideas and a progressive view on the game. The post of Everton manager is open to candidates. Please form an orderly queue.
Point 3 = your vivid imagination

"Welcome to Everton FC, Mr De Boer. You better stay top half of the table. There's your parking space, by the way"

What happened to this?

A few months ago rm signed a new contract and everyone on this forum was over the moon not one person was slating him it hasn't taken long for everyone to jump on the bandwagon calling for his head. I think he has made mistakes but what manager doesn't? He will turn things round and a lot of people will be eating humble pie

Why would anyone be calling for his head when we weren't doing that badly? That's just daft talk. Fact of the matter is, right now, we are looking in a terrible state, and much as most of us would like to give him time to turn it around, the decision will need to be made before it's potentially too late.

Being completely sincere I hope he does, and I would graciously and magnanimously eat humble pie if we were in the top ten come the 24th May.

Martinez earned a lot of leeway with his success last season and that's fair. Nevertheless, focusing merely on the past is nothing but nostalgic.

This season has been nothing short of poor and based on our past five, six or even seven performances we are getting progressively worse.

Add to that, our up coming fixtures offer little encouragement. Then there is the rigidity and his delusional post match assessments.

Add his previous form at Wigan to whole situation, where the same issues arose regarding style of play, and it's not a pleasant read.

I would LOVE Martinez to turn it around, but the evidence is slowly but surely building that he may not be the man to do it.

The simple question is can we afford to give him the time required? It's a game of risk: keep him and maybe stay up, or keep him and get relegated.

The odds of relegation are shortening by the day, so I fear that he may have to go simply to ensure our survival... before it's too late.

If he stays and builds from the experience, it could be the absolute making of him. Equally, if he stays and we go down it will be catastrophic.

Simply, we SHOULDN'T be in this situation. The fact we are shows things aren't right.

Exactly, very fickle.

A bit of loyalty wouldn't go amiss.

Tbf, though, even now there's still a big majority sticking with him.
