I think Moyes is playing a blinder, devaluing the club by not playing his best available players. It's forcing Kenright's hand, he sells now or risks losing money down the line.

Just my take on it.

It does seriously feel like Moyes is sabotaging us at times.

a) Dropping our top scoring striker (Vellios).
b) Persisting with non-scoring forwards and leaving a striker on the bench (Straq) who set up a goal on his debut.
c) Selling our most creative player (Arteta) at the last minute of the transfer window.
d) Passing on a player (Ba) on a free who has gone on to be one of the league's top scorers.
e) Practically giving away our former record signing (Yakubu).
f) Not playing/devaluing two of our most expensive signings (Heitinga & Bily).
g) Signing players who we have no real use for (Hahnemann, Straq & McFadden).
h) Over-playing key players (Howard, Jagielka, Baines, Fellaini & Osman).
i) Using players carrying injuries (Coleman & Cahill)
j) Dropping the club captain (Neville).
k) Giving young players (Barkley, McAleney & Gueye) a taste of the first team and then unceremoniously dumping them.
l) Using players in unfavourable positions (Osman & Coleman).

I think Lambert and Rodgers are smarter than Moyes but, in the long run, he'll outbattle them.

Moyes has given up fighting imo. Hes got nothing to prove, no hope with how the club is ran, so is being defeatist and not really trying to compete with any team like he used to.

Hes just collecting his pay cheque without complaining. Weve always sold to buy, so why get upset about it davie?

He does seem to have lost his fight but, even so, I think he's got enough grit to see us up to midtable at least. However, I think Norwich and Swansea will falter in the second half of the season.

incidentally, you saying that, just watched match of the day, and Lineker came out with a stat, before today's game, we were 3 points away from being the 7th team to reach 1000 premier league points.....!

Hold up a sec. Moyes dropping Neville is a good thing, a very good thing. Also, he has now started the last 3/4 games and has been absolute ****e.

Maybe he wouldn't be quite so ****e if Moyes had let him plod on, rather than dropping him just to try and make a point. Our 'leaders' in the side (Neville and Cahill in particular) have been on a downer. Rather than 'resting' them and making them feel special and important, Moyes 'drops' them in a poorly conceived piece of amateur psychology which has failed to have the desired impact. His intention was to instil a bit of fire in them. To do that he needs to make them feel like their place is under threat. It doesn't work if he gives someone else two games and then reinstates them whether their understudies have been good, bad or indifferent. And it definitely doesn't work if you announce to the press exactly what you're doing.
