…I fear the former will see us relegated. We need to act now, giving it to somebody until the end of the season has to be a definite non-starter.
We need points and badly. Villa going to be a tough game and our games in hand are Leicester which isn’t easy and Burnley(I think) again won’t be easy

….certainly need to have an immediate impact. I’m reluctant going back to the same old managerial merry-go-round, we want somebody young & progressive.

Ferguson is a definite no, no. Much too romantic for me, nothing to suggest he’s a decent manager.
It wasn’t a rhetorical question - I’m genuinely asking who
1) would have an immediate impact
2) would have a long term vision and plan
3) would take it now

….i agree there might be a bounce for a game or two but he wouldn’t be for me.

in our precarious position, appointing a temporary manager would be nonsense. If you think he’s good enough, then surely you’d want him permanently.

Huge risk factor giving somebody the job who has sat alongside a procession of failures. He’s part of the scenery & I doubt his worth as a coach. We certainly need somebody new, somebody fresh. I’d genuinely fear for us if Ferguson is appointed.

i’m fairly ambivalent to who it should be but I’m very certain who it shouldn’t be. Please let it not be Ferguson.

Would see how he got on. But we'd be looking at a rebuild for the summer especially with all the players leaving which he wouldnt be able to do. Just think getting someone in perm now in a season that's lost isn't worth it

He knows the squad inside out and personally think he'll get enough to keep us in the league.

I’ve wanted Dunc for a while but funnilyvenough that Keane episode actually put me off him a bit. Yes he showed he’s brave with decisions but I sought if took that as him being a bit scatty about it if you know what I mean. Anyway I’d be happy if it was him. The passion would return and we ours be united and get behind the team. Something to believe in again.

You mean Kean? I saw it as a brave decision, subbing a substitute that isn’t injured is the ultimate disrespect for a player and showed he doesn’t suffer fools gladly.

Ferguson is also not afraid to play youth.

He even had Tom Davies playing well in a number 10 role, was crazy that it worked.

If Dunc is up for I would give it to him. The job would mean the world to him and he would give it everything, get some good people around him and let him coach and man manage.

Hes shown he can make awkward decisions by dropping players and even taking Kean off when he had been subbed on. These arent easy decisions to make.

Hes served his apprenticeship under plenty of different types of manager and has hopefully picked up elements from all.

Im bored of the foreign next big thing, Im bored of the big name, Im bored of old dinosaurs set in their way managers. Lets give it to Dunc, get some proper football people around him and lets go.
Ruined Kean more like

Give Dunc the chance for the next 2-3 games, and if we get a couple of wins and move into the middling pack then we can afford to give him until the end of the season where we then re-evaluate.

If this happens, I can see good reasons for (and also against) hiring Rooney or Potter.
Kovac wouldn't be a disaster; Amorim, Conceição, and Gallardo are pipe dreams.
No Mourinho, no Dyche, no Fonseca.

But before any managerial acquisition takes place, we need to bring in board members and a CEO with actual experience in leading a competitive sporting club, and they should decide on whether a DOF structure should be enforced or not moving forwards.

I used to live in Brighton, I’ve got friends that go home and away. They don’t all love him I can assure you.
Yeah that's not what I get from the Brighton fans I work with/speak to, they are very frustrated with the board, the only criticism of Potter I have ever heard is that he changes the team a bit too much at times.
