Worked with a guy very close to Jeffers, will just say the bloke should never be anywhere near this club from stories I heard about how "professional" he was.

I have heard similar.

I think this is where the charity and the football club blend, in an unhelpful way. There seems to be a view that we are a charity for these ex players to rehabilitate themselves. That's not a good culture at all.

If they want to go and volunteer for the charity, they should do that, but honestly the football club needs to be far more hard nosed.

If it's a choice between Rooney or Lampard either is a risk. Lampard hasn't been in a dog fight and he had good players at Chelsea and did a mixed job, he did well at Derby mind you. Rooney hasn't the experience but has the name value, club connection and he has been fire fighting for the last year... Either is a risk

Having watched today we need a coach who is progressive and plays attacking football to get us going I think. Lampard maybe... I am just not convinced by any of the names
