I'm glad Benitez has gone. It was corrosive. But it was right to support the manager of Everton. Any manager. That's my position.

People are going to have to dig in now and get behind a manager finally. Because we really are heading into the abyss if we keep on throwing them under the bus every season to 18 months. Lamaprd has to be supported through every downturn for the foreseeable.
Agreed with everything in bold. Just couldn't bring myself to support THAT manager. Just another massive mistake made by the board in running this club. Time to move on now though. We're in desperate need of stability. A massively split fanbase doesn't help that case.

Ferguson never got the nod in for the manager job due to lack of experience vs benitez, ancelotti and the likes.

But if lampard gets in, then he is definitely not cut out for the manager role.

What’s been a major issue at Everton (board aside)…. A lack of identity. It’s no secret that Lampard plays attacking football and will give youth responsibility. Not saying he is a perfect fit, but he’s a young manager, who has managed in a pressure cooker environment and will help give the team an identity.

For me. It’s a good fit. With the right staff team with him it could fit perfectly.

He is going to take one look at these midfielders and demand replacements though. Was an excellent excellent footballer Lampard. He’s going to have manage Tom Davies and Andre Gomes.

People are right to laud Lampard for getting a club like Derby County to the Premier League play-off final. They’re also right to laud him for guiding Chelsea to a top 4 finish without being able to sign a single player due to their transfer embargo. He got them to the FA Cup final that season too.

BUT… has he got the requisite experience to arrest the seemingly terminal decline of a team that is literally losing every single week. Can he get arguably the worst squad in the league out of the bottom 5 when the likes of Newcastle and Norwich are now breathing down our necks and are spending a fortune in this transfer window? At this stage don’t we need a relegation specialist to do a rescue job? Someone like Big Sam but preferably not Big Sam. Let’s be honest: this is a very different job to Chelsea, albeit Chelsea had just sold their best player (Hazard) before Lampard had arrived and of course couldn’t sign anyone as I’ve already said.
Let’s never utter the words Big Sam ever again.

A report in a Melbourne paper headed 'Rooney snub for Everton', he's quoted as saying "I believe I will be a Premier League manager.
I believe I'm ready for that 100%. And if that is with Everton one day in the future that would be absolutely great".

He went on to say "I've got a job to do at Derby County which is important to me".
