I know its a different goalkeeper but when ever I watch under 21 highlights that Matuz Hewlett has a mistake in him every time
Russell Griffiths has according to reports played very well on loan in a struggling side they were playing the league leaders on Sat the team have just sacked their manager, they have let their stalwart long standing Keeper leave.
Russell is on monthly loans at Colwyn Bay - Joe Royle is sending a centre half there to help them out, they beat Skem away 4-3 last week - I keep an eye on his reports as he is a England youth team set up - sorry about the dry remark that he let three in - hope he makes the grade

Scott Carson would be better than that useless American get we have in goal jumping out of the way of opposition shots.

Why did he go to Stoke then, who had Begovic? We didn't make them a serious offer, if we had then I'm convinced we'd have got him
I know that , but TH is not removable look at Robles last season three clean sheets = dropped - I was disappointed that he was not left in until he played a bad game - RM made it worse by returning TH and saying hes my no 1 on return Chelsea away then v Leicester at home he had a disastrous games that's when I started to observe him, and noticed he has major faults , but he is irremovable under DM , and now RM!

...that's a matter of opinion. In retrospect I think Howard has been a good signing but I agree that standards have slipped in the last 18 months or so. For me, bringing in the likes of Lukaku was more of a priority than replacing an adequate (at the time) Howard.

I truly believe having a serious quality keeper in goal makes the difference in a season. Howard is Ok but that's not good enough we need a hero keeper. And I don't mind going through a few duds to find one. Sticking with just adequate over the last ten years has driven me mad Tbh. I want a keeper every second or third game where you say 'jesus he really single handidly kept us in that' and I see them types in the premiership do it. Howard does that once a season. We have De gea in goal we would be above united right now. As you said it's opinion and I'm dead delighted we got Lukaku or any other areas of the pitch we sorted you want to compare but it's my opinion over ten years we should be out to find that wonder keeper and taking chances on other keepers.

....you say Howard is ok, which is pretty much my view. Finding a 'hero' replacement would be good but I wouldn't want a scattergun approach of going through duds until we get one.

howard is a keeper who might not be completely dependable at times but can pull off some brilliant saves and is as good a shot stopper as anyone in the league.

Robles is a solid and unispiring keeper, there is literally nothing about him that stands out. I'd be concerned if he became our number one without some sort of improvement in his abilities.
