Why we dont 'need' investment

Sell high, buy low thats the model. It goes in cycles.

Im not going to get all Kenwrongish because he doesnt pretend and never has pretended to be brewsterd hes honest about it and takes all manner of flack.

We need change to grow, he admits it, everyone knows it, hes not killing the club, he just cant grow it with what we have.

As we have seen he puts whatever we get back into the club, i have no arguments there, others may, i dont.

Youd be of your bin to buy Everton tbh.

Trust me mate I want to win any sort of trophy more than anyone and hopefully one day win the league and try and dominate! The only way to do this at the moment is do a city or Chelsea, but the bubble with money in football will burst soon enough and the way our club is ran and doesn't spend more than it is bringing in will keep us safe and sound where as other clubs like the ****e like city like Chelsea will all be ****ed

Been saying that for, oh, 15-18 years now and still it hasn't happened...

I take exception to Kenwright because he has absolutely zero idea as to how to move this club forward.
We're snotted by similar teams when it comes to sponsorship deals, he tried to move my club to a tin hut in Kirkby which we were promised was free, and put the breaks on the KD project by tugging on the heartstrings of the lads in the stands.
He's a cretinous stain on this grand club of ours.

I'd take a pauper with a solid business plan over him.

Let's be honest , without David Moyes we'd have died a death a long time ago, The fact that we are doing so well is despite Kenwright , certainly not because of him . If Moyes had been given a decent warchest as recent as 3 years ago we'd have been challenging for CL places now and would have some silverware in our cabinet ... Of course we need investment !

The following clubs have had investment and in the past we have been envious of them and wished to have what they have.

Aston Villa
Portsmouth
Birmingham
Liverpool

These clubs have actually gained nothing since their investment and in some cases have crashed and burned. Do we really want some random American to take us over akin to Aston Villa. Their fans on the forums are saying this should be their first XI
------------Guzan--------------
Hutton-Vlaar-Baker-Warnock
-------------Herd----------------
-------KEA---------Delph------
------------Ireland--------------
-----Wiemann------Bent--------

How poor is that team, i almost feel sorry for them that fans similar to us who were in a similar position to us are coming up with such a load of garbage, that team could be going down. If we had taken some random investment back when Villa did then this could have been us. There is only 2 clubs with the type of investment with any kind of positive result and that is City and Chelsea. I still feel that both these clubs will struggle when their owners leave.

It prompts the question, do we really need investment? Good management financially coupled with the pending financial fair play rules could work in our favour without having to get anyone in. If we keep producing through the youth team then we simply cant go wrong with our current policy, the chances of getting bad investment is a lot higher than getting good investment so no investment at all could be the best answer.

We don't even own the grass we play on. C'mon mate!!!

We still need investment, if BK could have brought in some investment to improve on our position each year people would be perfectly happy with that I think (even with BK still there). Sadly as much as he believes he's the person to bring in investment, it's clear after years of apparently trying that no-one actually wants to invest in a football club unless they own it (and why would they? there's little chance of ever seeing a return when it comes to football).

The season is looking positive so far, but if we finish high up in the table and get into Europe, that's when we need to push on and bring in new players whilst keeping the players who got us there in the first place. Sadly our business plan doesn't seem to fit in with that, so we sell to buy (and at the same time pay off debt), it leaves it difficult to actually build on that. Even investment in the squad of ~£15m a year without having to sell (doesnt mean we still cant) would be a huge improvement.

Our apparent business plan of selling our players for a high price at their peak in order to pay off some of our debt (with only some being reinvested in the squad) is pretty dangerous long term too, a few dodgy transfers could leave us in trouble both on and off the pitch. The club on the whole needs a business plan for bringing in money which isn't dependant on player sales (which should act as completely seperate 'bonus' revenue) - there's been a few occasions over the years in which we could have moved forward as a club and the opportunities were entirely missed because of lack of investment.

Amazing what a few wins can do, isn't it?

It's always worth remembering that the perpetually miserable will be exactly that mate.

I'm massively anti-Kenwright but I'll always bathe in a fine Everton performance.

(last sentence was a little bit gay, wasn't it)
