rubbish. Howard is in the top 6 goalkeepers in the league. All keepers make mistakes and today was not a mistake. The conditions were awful today for him as well. I dont think we could afford anyone better than Howard because if we could you would be looking at keepers like joe hart, victor valdes etc. Howard is as good as we can get and I am happy with him between the sticks.

I hate to say this but I disagree.

Cech, Reina, Vorm, Szczesny, Given, Hart are all at least better than Howard.

I have no idea why people rate Szczesny. He's turd.

Replace him with Friedel and I'll give you that list (though Cech has been meh this year). Still have no interest in replacing Tim.

he is an accident waiting to happen , my heart goes into my mouth every time the ball goes into the area or we need him to come out he dosnt command it at the back at all, was doing ok early season now back to normal first player i would replace if we had any money totally overated by many including moyes

Oh, come on! Howard might of cost us two points today, but there are MANY MANY games where he wins us points. Sure he makes a few mistakes, but overall he is a quality keeper. Van Der Sar, Cech, Friedel, Buffon, and a lot of top keepers all have their bad days.

We forget that apparently. Sigh. I fully expect to see the Neiler rant later.

Howard deserves it today. Over the course of the season, no.

Szczesny is good, very young for a goalkeeper too. I wouldn't really want to replace Howard either, although in an ideal world I would like to, there's other areas that need addressing first. Howard is about 7th or 8th best goalkeeper in the league at best really, and we are about the 7th or 8th best team.

I thought Gibson improved in the second half, and was the one starting off most of the good spells we had in the game. He looks a decent passer when he's given time and space, but when he's pressed and put under pressure he plays the way he's facing and releases the ball early. He doesn't make himself available enough for my liking either. A mixed bag so far but I'm sure he'll improve the more he develops an understanding with his teammates. Not sure he'll ever be the answer to that position, but at half a million you can't complain, he's at a good age and will be a useful player to have in and around the squad.

Great to see Pienaar again and he looked like he'd never been away. Constant movement, excellent awareness and intelligent distribution. He's a quality player and massively improves our football. It wasn't a case of him just going through Baines either, as the myth goes. He's a reliable playmaker and that's what we need.

Im all for giving him time to settle. But on the back of saying Gibson makes Fellaini tick because Gibson sits better, is something I dont agree with.

Heitinga and Neville have proven in the past that either of them can do a similar job along side Fellaini. When its Heits and Nev as a partnership is happening is where you have to worry.

With Rodder and Felli in the middle, the one thing that does happen is that we can dominate and keep possession not lose it sloppily. The problem has always been the creativity, that is out of their hands.

Fellaini's midfield partnerships have been pretty hit and miss since Arteta came back from the injury he suffered at Newcastle. When Arteta was out Fellaini hit a purple patch when he had either Osman or Pienaar partnering him in the middle of the park. Week in week out he dominated. The Fellaini/Rodwell pairing has never come close to it.

Moyes has the option to turn to Pienaar again I suppose but I suspect he brought him back to pacify Baines and shore up the left hand side. We need to see how Gibson pans out. Rodwell/Felli is not the magic bullet.

Not the prettiest game was never going to be really considering the weather. Think we did enough for a win was just a pointless goal to conceed

Moyes: "I'm disappointed with not winning but the pitch wasn't good. Thank goodness Victor stepped up"

Hmmmm

This year I think that's fair (I would argue with "at best" of course) - it's an opinion that can be argued and has some validity.

The folks telling me Howard's just athletic, is rubbish, etc....tunnel vision.

Szczesny needs to put some years together before I give him anything. He's had way too many clangers and bad decisions to be considered consistent in my book. He could develop into something, but until he does, no idea how people put him in the top of anything. Potential is nothing until realized.
