Hire a chainsawThat's like "How long is a piece of string"
It will not be cheap to get a reputable firm in. The actual cost would depend on a lot of things e.g. the height and girth of the tree, as well as the proximity to buildings, fences, roads and footpaths etc
Most firms will also charge for 'disposal' despite the fact they will probably sell on the wood, the bark and chippings etc
There are a lot of 'cowboy' firms around who would be cheaper obviously, but check that they have insurance, particularly if it's close to property.
Doubt you would get a sapling removed for that @Joey66 If it's a decent size tree near buildings you could be looking at 6 or 700
I did state top tree arboriculturist are to be avoided they come to expensive one tree hire the chainsaw, and sheader and do it yourself its not rocket science..... bag it up and take it to your local waste depot......or get a recommended proficient handyman gardener who has the gear....that price you quote has someone ripped you off @kev ?That's like "How long is a piece of string"

its a simple V cut, and then a side cut to make the tree fall the way you want....
If its a large tree yes its down in sections - tbh it depends on the Genus of any tree if its a Chamaecyparis Leylandii which I class as a large weed the disposal of the bits is costly as they have to be shredded into a smaller size to get rid of the waste .. if its a poplar tree etc or Ash etc then sawn into nice logs for the coal fire is easier - I have burnt 100s of trees on my fire via the parks department as a perk - I split the rings with an axe in my youth - Elm burns very slowly Ash is a dream for a coal fire - a point is to any tree taken down is to ask for the price of the firewood to be deducted from your bill if it is a good source of logs..... as the executioner will sell it well for a good price...............I bought one a few years ago with an long arm that cuts branches. It cost about £100 and I’ve easily had my worth out of it. Saying that, cutting down a large tree needs a bit more expertise and the blokes I’ve had in work their way down from the top. I wouldn’t fancy doing that myself.
No mate, I've never had one removed but like I said it would depend very much on the size and the surrounding area.that price you quote has someone ripped you off @kev ?
I mentioned 'sapling' as a joke JoeyA sapling is 3- 6 feet feet high mate plus a youngish tree you could dig that up.....
Getting back on subject some firms will rip a tree down without respect of birds nest chicks etc ... seen it done, not by myself like.....but to them money is the denominator.....No mate, I've never had one removed but like I said it would depend very much on the size and the surrounding area.
