Blue tongue lizards are harmless to humans, they like bugs, beetles etc. Have lots of geckos in my backyard as well. See a lot of black swans on the lakes close to me. We also get bull sharks in the main river in Perth that’s the Swan River.
Inspired by @Bilbo's fantastic macro shots, I tried to get pictures of some of the bugs/insects in the garden.

(Obviously I'm not even in the same league as @Bilbo - with either the photography or the identifications lollol)

#1 Sunfly hover.
#2 Alder beetle I think.

Hylaeus modestus - the modest masked bee, flew in through the open door and landed on the window. The moisture makes for an interesting background and the double glazing helps on reflections at the right angle. It moved a bit in the first but that was at the highest point and it was a stretch to reach.

Mr Hedgehog visited last night. Havent seen one for a long time, unfortunately they are under pressure.
All I have is a few cockatoos which make an absolute mess of my gum trees, the occassional bin chicken and some rats which run along the fence at night.
Used to have a kookaburra visit us but haven't seen it for a while

I’m trying to get rid of some wildlife at the moment. One of the gable walls of my house has a re algae growing on it. This wall doesn’t get a lot of direct sunlight which I think is the problem. Just sprayed it with a cleaning solution and then going to power wash it. Can’t have the power washer turned up too high as the walls are pebble dashed and I don’t want to blow them all away. Very warm to be at this sort of work. Has anyone else had this red algae growing on their house.
Once I get this done I have to paint some fencing, l’ll get that put up tomorrow.
I feel I have to do some work about the place and then won’t feel guilty taking a few beers and a bbq.

I almost stepped on this little friend thinking it was a leave.
Just been out with the binoculars to check the moon out as it's a beautiful sight tonight, and a bat started flying around me. Very agile little things they are.
