Will Rooney play again for Everton?

The fourth or fifth year in a row now where he's come back to Goodison and done absolutely nothing. Like I've said, I don't think his heart is really in it anymore. Doesn't rise for the big games like he used too.

What you've said is along the lines of what jags said in the week. He hasn't played well against us, obviously his heart isn't in it when he plays us. However he raises his game against the RS and arsenal away this season. So I think it can only levelled against us, not the other big teams.

Lads you're doing the boy and our lads a dis service,he showed up and got nothing from Barry Mccarthy jags and stones that's it nothing to do with playing everton fc

I genuinely believe Roo would only return to Everton in deep twilight of his career, as we will not be able to offer the dosh he clearly loves till then.

Therefore to me it is a giant no! Sentiment may be fantastic, but I cannot easily forget the likes of Gazza and Gionla leeching the club.

Unless he and his agent Stretford are willing to take a huge drop in wages in the near future, then it's never going to (or should) happen.

About four years ago at Goodison, I clicked Rooney did not want to play against us away. He purposely messed up everything that came his way.

He has had an amazing career at United when we could offer him nothing.

We got 30 million for him when you would have had to wipe your are with your shirt tails at Goodison. He responded to vile abuse from toffees fans by making a fool of himself at 21 years of age.

Great.

He was immature at 21.

I don't think Pope Francisco needs to talk about it next Sunday in the Vatican.

I would welcome him back at any stage. Imagine letting him and Duncan in around the underage setup?

HE IS THE GREATEST PRODUCTO OF OUR UNDERAGE SYSTEM AND HAS NEVER DENIED HE IS A TOFFEE? DEAL WITH IT AND MOVE ON

Allow him around the underage set up,and do what, tell them to move to a bigger club at the first chance they get,he's a judas,he had is chance, not only that he came back and kissed the Utd badge, jog on an die shrek

It still pains me that arguably two of the greatest products of our academy (Rooney and Barkley) won't be seen in a blue shirt together. I really think Rooney has grown up since the badge kissing episode. Really think he cant be arsed playing well against us. Just watch the game again. No really effort into closing players down and no geeing up or encouragement for his team. Definitely not a captains performance.

Not sure how he's supposed to play for us again (in his prime) given he'll be 32 when his current contract expires, he's hardly going to walk away from 300k a week and Champions League football to play for us. I'm probably in the minority who doesn't begrudge that, it's his career at the end of the day, what I begrudge him for is the way he engineered the transfer 2 weeks before the end of the transfer window and his subsequent inability to understand why Evertonians would hate him for that
