Personally, I'd keep McCarthy. I imagine will RK will want a starter and a backup in each role:

Ball winner DM: Carvalho, McCarthy

Deep Playmaker: Barry, Gibson

Box-to-box CM: Witsel, Besic (?)

Just my opinion, but that's what I'd do; just to have the option to change specific attributes for different matches.

I'd agree with this to be honest

Gives us more options off the bench

he's only played 8 senior games for Benfica, plus the 6 or 7 for Portugal.

But don't be mistaken Pabbers, the lad has all the ability to be a star. He looked world class already at times during the Euros.
 
See we could sell McCarthy for a decent fee, might not get back all we paid but even if we got 10m, that off the 30m for Carvo means we have upraded to a top player for 20m. Thats how I would look at it. Its one reason why I want us to get some early players in, so then we might start to shift a few out that are no longer needed.

Imagine getting Carvalho for 30m and Koulibaly for 40m but selling Stones for 50 and James for 10, we have only spent 10 big ones and look how much better the squad would be.
James Mc might be a bit too valuable to have as a back up, would prefare a backup from the youth to be honest.

I would like to see Barkley get his physique back to that of a footballer and be the box to box player. I rate him far higher than Witsel. Chance that Davies will develop quickly into one of those roles too.

Oh I like him mate, looks an amazing talent. But you just never know with these young players.

Wicki says he has 35 games for Benfica.

Just seen a couple of tweets saying Witsel has agreed terms with Inter! (sorry cant link them in work!)
 

Anybody think Carvalho has that Yaya Toure about him ? I agree with a few already mentioning he isn't the cquickest over 5 yeards, but to me it seems like once he gets going he cant be touched. Kind of reminds me of that Nigerian tank who steamrolled his way through defences..... erm.... whats his name....... oh yeah Yakubu ! (That barge on Meirelas - that Liverpool player never gets old or was it konchesky ?)

He probably has agreed terms with a couple of teams according to the Italian press. I don't trust the Italian press...jarg like.
