Anyone who thinks wolves will be top 7 are on another planet. We bossed the game with 10 men. They look like Martinez's Everton in his second year. No pressing or plan b.

Anyway, COYB! Disappointed we couldn't keep the lead, but never a red card (despite a dreadful first touch). We look far more organised and balanced and i think we should realign our expectations, with anything less than top 7 being disappointing. Onwards and upwards

Will be very exciting when Bernard, Zouma and Mina get in the side. Lot to like but a lot to work on as well.

Richarlison is a beast! More impressive than the goals, to me, was his insane effort to get back in defense. Will be a great help to our squad all season.

if you watch their second its not really all down to keane. first the cross shouldn't have been allowed to come in. second if you watch Holgate , he loses his man who loses him to gain a few yards behind. keane spotted that and was caught between going with the player who got goal side of Holgate and the man he was marking.
the result being that keane ended up a foot too far away from his man.

tbh although they had there moments , I thought keane and pickford looked ever so slightly rusty.

Martinez's Wigan I reckon. Could easily go back down. They won't get a hand from the ref every week.

Like us they do have a few players they have signed that didnt get a look in today.

Think its a bit silly to be writing them off personally.

On another day that red isn't given, we then go on to win. First game of the season against a newly promoted team that have spent the previous season smashing in the goals and winning most of their goals, always a potential banana skin and not helped by poor officiating.

I've seen enough too see the team is considerably stronger than last season, faster and once we're up to speed we should give most of teams in the league a thumping or two.

At fault for their second goal, Keane was out of position trying to mark two player

Disagree with it being his fault but we did see the good and the bad in him. He won plenty of headers and usually stuck with his man. The bad was he is not reading the line correctly and the silly mistake of attempting an offside which took him out the game almost cost us a goal. Another time was when a wolves player was flagged offside but was actually in line with Holgate. Still a decent player in him but still a few things that need ironing out. Better than Jags though.

Coleman/walcott were poor overall which is disappointing.

A point is good, but ultimately we should be looking to take quite a lot of points from our first few games if we want to push higher up the table.
He has missed a fair bit of pre-season so I didn't expect him to be 100% match fit or shape, thus I believe that he will soon improve. We have more options too!

With regards to Keane, I do feel that he could have done better but equally it was a good ball so it's swings and roundabouts.

I was thinking the same thing, absolute lack of quality outside of Neves and even then a screamer free kick and a cross with space he never has against 11 men isn't really happening most days. Jota and Costa did nothing. Moutinho had no real effect either and that backline is badly championship standard
