More entertaining than any of our games last season.
Still fuming about that red which cost us the game but Jagielka’s touch was appalling.

Happy with a point considering we had 10 men. Obviously disappointed in being pegged back but on the other hand we didn't let it be the Alamo and still tried to get forward as much as possible. Makes a difference to last season when we treated most games as if we where at the Alamo with 11 men.
Still think our midfield get dominated too easily by all and sundry.

Still sad to read some of the comments on social media. That tackle was just mistimed, not malicious, and Jags has been a fantastic servant to the club. He doesn't deserve such abuse.

Positives far far outweigh the negatives and in Richarlison we have a matchwinner,very important not to lose and gutted we didn’t hold on but overall some very good signs for progression

It wasn't down to the personnel. The tactics were so passive. A team that has bought so much "quality", playing over 45 minutes at home to a team with 10 men, that struggled last season. They put our defence under no real pressure. We looked more threatening, even after the sending off.

They effectively didn't have a man advantage. They stayed three at the back all game so had 3 centre backs marking a single forward.
We are a better team than last season, Rico improves us 10 fold, plus we have a better manager.
You seem to be giving us no credit.
Who knows how they will get on, just think its a bit much to write them off after 1 game.
I haven't seen them but can guess. We forget that he has been brilliant for us in the past and yes we all know he is now past it but the managers should have replaced him by now. He is 36 now yet still been allowed to play week in week out, previous managers' faults

That's down to the manager. As I said previously, Martinez was rigid in his tactics. To not press a team when you are playing agaiinst 10 men with a single striker, as you say, is poor.
I see them taking some hefty beatings this season.
Lol ! We didn’t play well today . Probably nerves with being the first game . Interchanging passing is our game but today had a lot of long passes which I think is down to nerves. You played well but considering we wasn’t at our ball on the floor sweet passing best probably made you look a lot better ! We will improve I have no doubt . As far as the delusional evertonians go with signing neves , please behave . No chance . Only team that could stand a chance is Man City , and your not in there league , all the best for the rest of the season and luck forward to seeing you at Goodison .
