It was definitely the manager's fault. He should have changed formation to take advantage of the extra man. He didn't, so they struggled to cut through,v even with the man advantage. It's not like we sat back and were defending like our lives depended on it. If Santo isn't more flexible, then they will struggle.

TBH I think that was the right call - if they'd have gone two up front too early we would have ragged them on the counter even more than we did.

Lol ! We didn’t play well today . Probably nerves with being the first game . Interchanging passing is our game but today had a lot of long passes which I think is down to nerves. You played well but considering we wasn’t at our ball on the floor sweet passing best probably made you look a lot better ! We will improve I have no doubt . As far as the delusional evertonians go with signing neves , please behave . No chance . Only team that could stand a chance is Man City , and your not in there league , all the best for the rest of the season and luck forward to seeing you at Goodison . :)
Please behave if you genuinely think that game was against our full first 11

Overall, a frustrating day, because we had the chances to finish it off.

Tosun should have put Walcott through one-v-one, Walcott mis-kicked that close-range one, Coleman overhitting the cross to Niasse.

Jagielka made an error, but it shouldn't have been a red. It was a ridiculous decision from arguably the worst ref in the league. We also have the small fact that the fk was taken four yards further forward. The club should be providing that evidence to the league and Pawson - on that alone - should not be reffing next week. It's an abysmal mistake.

Wolves were decent, but until their second equaliser didn't really do much, bar the time when our defence fell asleep. They had the better of the closing stages and have some very promising players - Neves looks a class act.

Work to do, but a strong start overall. Need the points v Southampton now.

Fair play to the players today. We showed more effort than I’ve seen for years and we looked too attack even when down to 10 men (bloody awful decision) and Silva already has us playing better football. The 2nd goal is testament to that, great little move and fantastic finish.

If we play like this more often than not the new we’ll be sound this season.

Tactically they were very poor.

If their manager is decent, which I dont think he is, he will fix things.

1 things for sure, they defo wont finish above us, that I am 100% certain of.
All the talk before the game was of a slick, attacking side with lots of talent who will do well in this league. Now, it's only been one game but I didn't see that today.

Maybe they had an off day or they will need to build momentum, but the there's big difference from dominating the Championship and playing with the big boys.

Buying multiple players without Premier League or domestic experience and adding to them a squad with little of these criteria may come back to bite them...

You have to remember that tactics and set ups have to be challenged and beaten. We set up a certain way and that is why you played not as good as usual because we didn't allow it. Something that the manager will come up against with lots of PL teams and something he has to overcome. Teams only play well when they have the beating of another team and have learned how to overcome the other teams tactics. Every game we lost last season is because we didn't play well lol

We watch the same game P?

They weren't bad, weren't good. Moved it nicely, created some decent chances. Overall it's hard to say they didn't deserve a share of the points, but I think we edged it in terms of chances created (but not finishing them off, like).

EVENING WOLF

You will get ragged at Goodison, off and on the pitch.

It was 6 yards forward. Disgusting referee who needs sacking.

Cannot wait to see this team when all the new lads are integrated. We can shake that top 6 nonsense.

1. They are a rubbish team. Ruben Neves aside, they are a team of dung.
2. Referees union is alive and well.
3. Absolutely no surprise that FIFA took none of our clown referees to Russia this summer.
4. Richarlison is a beast.
5. We were about 60% at full strength today and we were ridiculously comfortable, very promising.

Just a final point about this goalscoring opportunity nonsense. Jagielka won the ball before he took the man, so the ball's positioning is key. The decision that a goal scoring opportunity was denied is horse turd because the ball was about 10 yards further up the pitch before Jota was caught, therefore he wouldn't have scored a goal under any circumstances whatsoever.

VAR needs to come into this league ASAP. Our referees are truly garbo.
