The German girls are boss off the pitch. The German team don’t come across as the most likeable bunch. But first time I’ve seen them so might be being harsh
Germany v France, 30 seconds in - volume muted: Jonathon Pearce and his constant droning on![]()
Yeah I was watching all the post match interviews and they came across pretty soundThe German girls are boss off the pitch.
Totally professional on it.
Some cynical fouls committed by them, if you mean that. The German girls are boss off the pitch.
Totally professional on it.
As I keep saying the standard is the standard. It makes no sense to question the standard when they are the best women players. They are the standard. In America, women soccer is embraced and liked by loads of people, whilst I've noticed a lot of resistance/opposition to the idea of women's football in the UK. I've noticed some say that women "shouldn't be playing football" in a pub near London. Anyways, I straight away assumed the UK to be very traditional and misogynist in many senses of the society. I thought about this for a while yesterday and I think the biggest difference between UK and USA is that the UK has a very strong culture with men's football and people are so accustomed to watching men's football to the point that watching women's football feels like a massive downgrade in standards. Whilst Americans don't really watch men's football so watching women's football isn't a big difference to the masses. Anyways, my two cents on this.

Very amateur level, why?Do women play baseball in USA?
Women's football was very popular in the 1920s with crowds of 50,000 plus - so of course the FA banned them from playing. In America, women soccer is embraced and liked by loads of people, whilst I've noticed a lot of resistance/opposition to the idea of women's football in the UK.
