You’ve only got to look at the Premier League to see that.

Oh no.. wait.

They won on the merit that they scored more goals in the penalty shootout.

Man city won the league on the merit that they accumulated more points.

All teams who play have the same chance at the start of the season

Football is a true meritocracy

🤣🤣 So you’re saying that Palace or Everton could win the league this season? That their chance of winning the league is equal to that of Manchester City for example?

I think it barely qualifies as a stamp. She stood on her rather than stamping, there was no undue force but it was sly thing to do.

At normal speed it barely registered and the ref punished her with a yellow, but the red was inevitable once VAR got involved. She was clearly frustrated that she had been impeded and the ref gave nothing.
I agree. Only just seen it but I was expecting it to be much worse.

Yes, it's not likely but yes. When Leicester won it they were 5000-1 with the bookies.

Technically you can win the league scoring 33 goals

But if that were the case, the bookies would have the odds for all clubs as equal. All at 20-1 as their chances of winning it were equal in this meritocratic Premier League.
The bookies odds reflect the reality that the Premier League is not a meritocracy, that real world issues like finances and ownership impact significantly and that Football is not now and never has been, a meritocracy. (Although pre 1992 the impacts damaging a meritocratic status were less).
Gone right of topic with this. Apologies.
