3 brilliant goals, 1 goal that shows you never stop chasing. Sam Kerr’s finish was great but that pass from Hemp was so, so good for the third. Finish wasn’t bad either.

Fingers crossed they can go one step further. We’ll have Lauren James back to come off the bench should we need her. I’m quietly confident but being an Everton fan has taught me to expect the worst.
It is like real football but in slow motion.

I agree there were a couple of bad tackles at the beginning but they were mistimed. The only team I would describe as overly physical would be Germany who you often see deliberately leaving their foot in and look like they're genuinely trying to hurt opposition players.
I have watched Germany for years and have never seen that!

I've only been watching them since the last Euros and have seen it numerous times. Oberdorf in particular often goes in studs up on people

Edit: I'm only talking about this current German side, not all of them ever

Sorry lads but some of you celebrating now, shamelessly piggybacking onto reflected glory, have openly mocked women’s football on this very forum before.

Not in your world you misogynistic pigs, you know who you are. You have until sundown to fess up or the vaults shall open and thee shall pay.

That's bait.

Well that may just be Oberdorf. She is the midfield destroyer, I wouldn't say she is any worse than say Stanway or Walsh or anyone who plays that role.

I can't say anyone else on their team does that. Popp is aggressive but fair, the rest of the team is more technical than aggressive. If anything a lack of aggression is what has costed them recently.

It was the slightest of nicks, it was always going in the moment it left her boot

It wasnt. Keeper has it easily, the deflection takes it away from the keeper and puts it in the top corner. Even the slightest of nicks make a massive difference

Everyone ignored it for the sake of a moment.

Good viewing figures and the most watched sporting event ever in Aus

Seven has revealed that last night's Fifa World Cup match between Australia and England is the most watched TV event since OzTam records began
The average audience was sitting around 7.13 million throughout the game, which includes a national broadcast audience of 6.17 million on terrestrial television, and another 957,000 on the streaming service 7Plus
In England, 11.1 million watched the game on the BBC including 7.3 million on BBC One and 3.8 million streaming on BBC iPlayer
Since the game finished, match highlights and clips have been streamed 2.7 million times

I agree on Popp. Disagree on Oberdorf, never seen Stanway or Walsh leaving studs in after the ball has gone. But hey maybe I haven't watched enough

Haven’t caught much of England in this tournament but remember many featuring for their clubs during CL this past season - women’s football continues to be growing in quality & coverage

Spain has the most talent of any NT at the WC IMHO but talent alone may not decide it - we’ll see who executes better. Aitana is a budding star in women‘s football and has had a breakout WC along with 19 year old Salma who is also influential (And both at Barca :celebrate:). Alexia still hasn‘t fully recovered 100% but La Roja may not need it due to so many solutions in attack. Their defense suffers without Mapi but this speaks to the fragility behind closed doors re: the women’s team internal revolt and maybe where England can hurt them

Going into the final two matches, @Wizard has an insurmountable lead - he will, no doubt, be gracious in acknowledging his triumph and his prognosticative prowess will be celebrated through the ages.....he has the opportunity, if England come through, to record a historic record victory in this first ever contest.

As long as England doesn't get defensive w/ a 1 goal lead when Spain throws all their forwards on think they'll win. England collectively has the best finishers in the world, unless the match is out of reach you have to keep them involved.

If we end up sacking another manager this season, would you be happy if the club signed the manager from the England women team?

No as looking at her record, most of it and the most recent stints have all been International teams. Be dubious myself. Happily see her replace Southgate
