Really not that excited for it, in any shape or form. Will sit down and watch most of the early games, probably get into it but there is definitely a possibility to just go meh after a while and just watch England games and the latter stages.

I'm the same and I know it - right now I'm all "meh big deal, WC, but in a crap country, what a crapfest".

Then it will start and I know I'd be "ah let's see what's on" and watch every game available lol

Probably in the minority as I enjoy international football as I can watch most of it as a true neutral.

I can't bypass the ethical concerns but I'm not going to boycott watching it on TV either.

The November kick-off is a bit of a downer, though I'll be off for almost all of the tournament.

Fancy Argentina to do it this time.

My silver lining is, it’s only 18 months until the Euros and 3.5 years until USA, Mexico & Canada… which should be a World Cup to the ages (even in its expanded format).

Don’t personally fancy Argentina, don’t rate Scaloni, think he’s another “Yes” man. Slightly controversial I know, but they only dominate CONMEBOL, because Tite is a poor manager and Uruguay, Chile and a Colombia have passed their peak

Don't think Tite is a poor manager, imho he does a Pep and overdoes it sometimes with some big brain moves.

Argentina won the Copa last time out because of defensive/gk heroics really. A proper s***house 1:0 win.

Honestly think this World Cup has the potential to be the best for a long term in the sense that 7-8 teams probably have a realistic chance of winning it.

I don’t look at anyone as an overwhelming favourite like I did with Belgium and France last time out.

Would have been perfect beergarden weather!

Not the biggest disgrace of this World Cup but a rather annoying one

Beer doesn’t mean the world to me, far from it.

But some great memories watching England in the sun, remember beating Sweden 2-0 and it was just a great day.

Plus side is working from home, 4 games a day.

Couple of lads I know sent me a package they were sent which was like £358 for a 4 hour bottomless brunch. That’s each.

Is it reallt a holiday if you’re totally restricted? Adding LFT as mandatory, isolated drinking areas… I’m glad I’m missing it.

It does, and that's what will 100% hook me when the games start lol

I don't either, can't see anyone being as dominant (on paper) as those sides really. Which should make it more interesting if nothing else.

Shame it is where it is, as that brought (rightfully so, mind) a lot of negative attention to it.

I'm just disappointed it's going to be cold out. I always think of this as a summer event. Get up early, watch the matches, go do summer stuff after (was nice being in school still for 2018). This is football weather American style and it just feels off.

Worst World Cup to Qualify for.

But Hopefully it’s not your last and we’ll see you in USA(if we qualify) in 3.5 years time

I wanted to go for 1 reason but I'm not at this point in life going a place that I can't find weed at, and I'm not messing with their laws regarding everything. I'm scared of the repercussion but I'd imagine I could have a blast booked up wandering the streets but I'm sure I'd end up arrested.

Anyways, the 1 thing that drew me in is the proximity of all the stadiums. I don't believe their will ever be a world cup again where you could theoretically catch 1 game, cross the country and catch another the same day. I haven't looked at the schedule, but it'll be the easiest on your body distance wise to travel. US world cup is gonna kill me flying all over, and any other country of a simalar size I can't see getting a lone bid.
