Won't ever see the likes of Argentina '78 again for atmosphere. FIFA insistent on having corporate crowds. The atmosphere is going to be so rubbish

Never thought of that, will just be heading into summer here, so should be lovely in the evenings. I will be able to watch the games at 6pm and 9pm local time, might need to move the tv into the garden for a month ?I'm just disappointed it's going to be cold out. I always think of this as a summer event. Get up early, watch the matches, go do summer stuff after (was nice being in school still for 2018). This is football weather American style and it just feels off.
I was close to doing it. Ultimately my buddy who I was going with didn't want to spend the money. What's come out since that point makes me glad we didn't do it. Unfortunately Qatar has basically lied about everything from the start and I can't see it being as enjoyable as it ought to be for the people attending.I wanted to go for 1 reason but I'm not at this point in life going a place that I can't find weed at, and I'm not messing with their laws regarding everything. I'm scared of the repercussion but I'd imagine I could have a blast booked up wandering the streets but I'm sure I'd end up arrested.
Anyways, the 1 thing that drew me in is the proximity of all the stadiums. I don't believe their will ever be a world cup again where you could theoretically catch 1 game, cross the country and catch another the same day. I haven't looked at the schedule, but it'll be the easiest on your body distance wise to travel. US world cup is gonna kill me flying all over, and any other country of a simalar size I can't see getting a lone bid.

For that reason (and cost) we’re staying in Muscat, Oman. Flying to Doha on shuttles for each group game.I think that’s a really good point.
I love football, I go to football 3 times a week. It’s just enjoyable.
But I guess as a person who does go to Internationalnaway games and a fair few club games over Europe over the season, for me it’s more than the football, it’s exploring the City, seeing different cultures, trying different cities cuisines etc… that’s what makes football great, unlocking the door to places you wouldn’t go to.
The idea of effectively being restricted to Qatar for a month is a nightmare for me, because where’s the variation?
That’s why 2026 and 2030 (if it’s the South American bid) will be incredible because of what I outlined above.
Each US region unique for its style and same goes for Mexico.
Seems like a very sensible plan. For that reason (and cost) we’re staying in Muscat, Oman. Flying to Doha on shuttles for each group game.
It looks very different to Qatar, with plenty of kulcha and sights on offer, plus we get a tip top hotel for a fraction of the crazy prices in Doha.
No MLS soccer-specific stadiums being used?Seems like a very sensible plan.
The thing I hate about our bid is the venues. Arrowhead makes Busch look like a good footy venue, and it's among the stronger options because the noise level means it will have atmosphere. By and large, the matches will be played in a bunch of high-capacity, soulless stadiums designed to extract as much money from the corporate class as possible. On the plus side, none of them will be quite as bad for the purpose as the Citrus Bowl was.
Insufficent capacity. No MLS soccer-specific stadiums being used?
Without being able to verify the validity of what I'm going to say, a friend of mine works out in Qatar, and she's said the restrictions on fans will shock many. The idea of effectively being restricted to Qatar for a month is a nightmare for me, because where’s the variation?
Kind of what put me off trying to get tickets. Lots of potential for trouble IMOWithout being able to verify the validity of what I'm going to say, a friend of mine works out in Qatar, and she's said the restrictions on fans will shock many.
She pretty much said that fans won't be able to travel freely around the country, and it would be pretty dangerous to get drunk in the organised fan park.
She has worked in Dubai and Qatar, and she's already said that people shouldn't confuse the two: Dubai, while having some strict laws, is far more accepting.Kind of what put me off trying to get tickets. Lots of potential for trouble IMO
