World Cup 2022

He’s roughly approaching the half way mark in his entire career and hasn’t reached 50 goals yet. He’s alright as a player but that’s about it. He’s equal to Demarai Gray in terms of ability; he’s certainly not any better than Gray. Is Gray worth 60 million? Hell no.

Pulisic is the USMNT best hope of doing anything currently and that’s why it’ll continue to be bang average.

We’ll revisit this in 4 years when these great midfielders and defenders you keep mentioning to us are in their prime and playing for top clubs in Europe.
He's better than Gray friend. Nothing more to say here.

I think people sometimes struggle with the context of just how far our talent is from the top teams in this league. We have, with an occasional exception where Kepa is a goalkeeper or something, zero players as good as anyone that gets to play for City/Chelsea/RS and now you can even add United, Spurs and Arsenal to the list as they get themselves together.

That means they're all better. No American bias here, Lucas Moura is better than Gray too.

Man like Demz won the Premier League fam.

Didnt actually check if thats true.

I don't dislike Gray but there are levels to this. He's alright in a mid table to relegation team, Pulisic has been alright in a top 10 team across all of Europe. They aren't the same.

So with ‘ better ‘ players around Pulisic in his entire career to date, he’s still only alright as a player.

Thanks for agreeing he’s no better than Gray.

I’m still giggling at your attempt to bend the 1 goal in 5+ games to 1 in 3 because he’s been a sub. But anyway, the only thing that really matters is by watching with your own eyes and coming to your own conclusion.

USMNT is bang average because they have to rely heavily on one player who is a forward, is half way through his career, has played at two of the best clubs in Europe, with better players, and is still YET to hit the 50 goal mark. Your best player is alright, and that’s why the US struggled to qualify for this tournament despite having 4 or 5 teams in their group who are around 80-100 in the world rankings.

Pulisic isn't our best player imo. That doesn't make us better or anything than what you're saying but I'm taking McKennie first. Guy is the heartbeat.

Also people with brains understand that in 2022 we can actually track how much people play beyond just appearances and think that's useful. You might make it there one day.

Anyway you're unnecessarily hostile at all times so I'm going to pop you on ignore before I get myself in trouble. Enjoy the match tomorrow.

I’m talking about Pulisic and the US team with you and nothing more. I’m hostile for that? but you’re not hostile by getting personal. People with brains and I might get there one day ?

Sound mate

As I’ve said already. If England were relying on Gray at this World Cup, like the US rely on Pulisic, I probably wouldn’t even be arsed it was on.

My initial thought was almost impossible to call but if I had to then England and Wales. But I'm starting to have my doubts now about Wales.
If Wales get through the group, it will probably be because we have a win and a draw as a minimum in the first 2 games against USA and Iran.

With our key players ageing, certainly in terms of Bale and Ramsey and with Joe Allen doubtfull for the first games due to injury, it will be tough.

In the 2016 Euros we were superb, those players were at their peak and we would have probably beat Portugal, who we met in the semis, if we had played them earlier in the competition.

By the time the semis arrived, the core team was totally knackered. We didn’t have the depth of quality to rotate then, less so now.

We probably have greater depth now, but not at the same level.

I suspect the same knackerdness will inevitably arrive earlier in the world cup.

Hopefully we have no more injuries in the remaining league games.

As someone else said, whoever hits the first games best will go through.

The current FIFA rankings for USA, Iran and Wales are so close as to make it impossible to base a prediction on form.

I’m glad we play Ingerland last, hopefully they play as well as they did against Iceland if we need a result.

Cymru am byth !

Haha, I hope we're through by the time we meet you. I don't want us having to get something more than a draw against you otherwise we'll be in trouble. I think I was reading that Bale hasn't been fit enough to play more than bit part roles for LAFC which is what was leading me to have doubts.
