I would love to boycott this tournament, but we haven't qualified for 64 years. I'll be happy getting out of the group. It'll be between us and the USA I reckon (they've a good young side). If Wales get through the group, it will probably be because we have a win and a draw as a minimum in the first 2 games against USA and Iran.
With our key players ageing, certainly in terms of Bale and Ramsey and with Joe Allen doubtfull for the first games due to injury, it will be tough.
In the 2016 Euros we were superb, those players were at their peak and we would have probably beat Portugal, who we met in the semis, if we had played them earlier in the competition.
By the time the semis arrived, the core team was totally knackered. We didn’t have the depth of quality to rotate then, less so now.
We probably have greater depth now, but not at the same level.
I suspect the same knackerdness will inevitably arrive earlier in the world cup.
Hopefully we have no more injuries in the remaining league games.
As someone else said, whoever hits the first games best will go through.
The current FIFA rankings for USA, Iran and Wales are so close as to make it impossible to base a prediction on form.
I’m glad we play Ingerland last, hopefully they play as well as they did against Iceland if we need a result.
Cymru am byth !
They are aware of where this tournament is being played no? Got a feeling FIFA might not be too concerned about ethics.
Meanwhile bad news for wales
The US have good young talent but we’ve no idea how to use it effectively. We’re the most predictable side in the group and that’s saying something with England and Southgate around. Fortunately strikers like Moore are the ones we’re actually able to deal with ok generally. This group will be a rock fight in every match.I would love to boycott this tournament, but we haven't qualified for 64 years. I'll be happy getting out of the group. Kieffer Moore will be an absolute pest for sides, I really like him. He's unconventional and not many foreigners come up against a player like him.
I was at the semi in Lyon, but can't get to any games this time and I'm gutted about.
Tbh I can't complain I spent an absolute tonne of money in 2016 as 'we've never got to a finals in my lifetime and probably never will again'. Hahaha
I hope they continue in that vein. ?The US have good young talent but we’ve no idea how to use it effectively. Nothing suggests they won’t. Wouldn’t be surprised if we draw one lose two and that’s it.I hope they continue in that vein. ?
At this point I just want the third match to matterNothing suggests they won’t. Wouldn’t be surprised if we draw one lose two and that’s it.
I'll be honest I've no idea how it'll go. I just hope Wales turn up against England this time.Nothing suggests they won’t. Wouldn’t be surprised if we draw one lose two and that’s it.
I could imagine there will be lots of draws in the groupWales get at least a point from that England game, if not more, calling it now
Wouldn't shock me if goal difference plays a big role in the final placings of that group
