I think you're right. Mainly from the southern state of Karala where villages, towns & cities are adorned with banners supporting one team or the other during events like the WC. Majority of Indians in Qatar are from there - most popular teams are Brazil and Argentina followed by Portugal and Spain.

I imagine the Qatari government will also be handing out free flags, banners, scarves etc as they did at the World Handball Championship they hosted in 2015.

Not sure why, but I'm expecting Argentina to massively disappoint. Think they're second favorites behind Brazil, but I just don't see them winning it for some reason.
