Who voted for Robles?

I'd swap him for Pickford today.

A proper 'steady eddie' between the sticks.

Basically everybody between Southall and Martyn were absolutely gash.

Martyn was good, Howard was OK and Robles was OK, never had a prolonged run to fully settle.

Good thread mate, pickford obviously

It's defo not Pickford out of that list.

As others have said though most of the players in that list were back-ups for the majority of their time here. Some may have had 1 season as 1st choice but that's it.

Of the keepers who were genuinely number 1 keeper Martyn was the best. Big gap, Then Pickford and then Howard. Those 3 were all better than anyone else on the list though.

Simonson for me, hated him. Always thought Richard Wright was a great keeper, didn't show it here and of course his injuries. Was chuffed when we got him, England International.

Simonson and Gerrard never got anywhere near the England team

Simonsen the clear winner here, even though he did have 10 defenders playing in front of him.

Dickie Wright had an excellent run of form at one point. Did he get an England cap whilst with us?

Wright's injuries being falling through his ceiling from the loft and twisting his ankle on a 'don't play here' sign

Richard Wright for me, most the other on that list were not really ‘No.1s’.

Still remember him rolling the ball into his own net against Fulham when we were going for Europe.
Buddy of mine is a Tractor Boy and would wax lyrically about him in his Ipswich days.
Along comes Widow Twanky, and hey presto, an instant England call up. Away to the mighty Malta (lovely Island, just not great a the togger) and he was like a startled rabbit caught in headlights
.What happened next was the inevitable. Even in those days. Yup, we bought him. Big fee, a full international, but, we all know Wenger never sold anyone who was any good. And he wasn't, in fact,he was a total catastrophe.
Yet this herbert not only represented his country, he had the likes of Everton, Arsenal, and Man City on his CV. Unbelievable Jeff.

ps why is Everton he only club that requests a 'spell check'? Blinkin' koppite machine!
