If you were a kid growing up watching this you'd be hard pushed to find a player you'd want on the back of your shirt. Ndiaye, Pickford and Branthwaite would be the only ones I can think of. The rest are just hard working, boring players that contribute so little to the attacking side you'd rather just forget they play for us.

I’d say it comfortably is, any talent we have had is systematically sold off and replaced by inferior players.
Good players previously have aged, a few who were never good enough are still here too - yet with years on the clock as well.

The defence is generally good, top 10 standard at least. The attack is awful though, some Championship teams have better options in attack.

You’ve got a bloke who’s spent his whole career battling relegation, the worst left back I’ve ever seen for Everton and a 40 year old right back. 3/5 are rele fodder.

Play Ndaiye there, in his actual position. Harrison moves to the left, the position he played for while at Leeds until McNeil is fit again.
I believe that would be less bad than having Doucoure behind the striker.

I mean in general rather than specific players, 7 clean sheets in the last 12 games and 24 goals conceded (7th least in the League). Young has done well this season but Branthwaite and Pickford are the key parts of the defence though as you say, wouldn’t be anywhere near that level without them.
