Worst tackle you've seen

Kuyt on Neville

Just performing a VAR check on that Davey. Slowing it down now...It's a horrendous challenge, definite serious foul play with premeditation to injure. Can I get a freeze frame there.

Okay Davey, number 18 blue has gone in hard to clear the ball, 18 red who is completely in control at all times, has tried to win it fairly but blue has jumped over his challenge. Without blue's soft organic bits to break red's momentum he could have really been hurt, could have even flown into the crowd and injured them too. My recommendation is a straight red for Blue 18 and a penalty to Liverpool.

Wasn't it by the far touchline?

Deffo Pen.

Weird you mentioned that, I remember my brother saying the same. I've never seen it.
To be fair, I was standing in the Street End so Marwood's was at the other end of the pitch at the time and looked like the typical poorly timed challenge. I don't remeber seeing a replay of it on the telly but I'm sure others will have had a better view
Reid defo went to get him back. And I cheered and we heartily sang 'Bye, bye, bye, bye' as they carried Marwood off.

That was a rough game. Wednesday were a real grock team at the time and as you know, that Everton team could mix it with the best (worst) of them when necessary.

Good times. I lost my virginity shortly after that. Hopefully she won't remember that as the worst tackle she's ever seen.

Saw the thread title and came to post the very same.

Didn't like Nolan before that, have despised him ever since. Boils my piss he's regularly on BBC podcasts. Wasn't a tackle, but honourable mention to another thug, Shearer for deciding he didn't like the shape of Lennonsnhead when he was down on the ground. Word is he avoided a blatant FA charge by threatening to quit England if he was charged.

Arsehole.
I think Moyes is employing Nolan as a coach at WHU presently,

Pepe on Casquero

he got eight games for this, and two games for calling the fourth official's mum a whore as he walked off

I remember in my playing days we had a reputation for being able to stand up for ourselves. Playing football across Northern Ireland during the troubles was an experience, we went to some scary places and to be fair teams coming to us must have caused them some consternation. I do remember one particularly hard fought game were no quarter was being asked or given. We had a full back who was very quick, unfortunately he couldn’t think as quick as he could move. Their winger broke on our left side and he went flying out to meet him, flew into the tackle which hit the winger just above the knee, the full back’s studs took the wingers sock and boot off. It was one of those moments when everyone froze for a couple of seconds as we all thought severe damage had been done. Luckily for the winger he seen the tackle coming in and he jumped, he had no weight on his legs when the tackle hit him. That was a yellow card offence in those days.
