Rather not... If he costs £24m now then in year he'll cost £34m.

The opposite probably but that wouldn't help us as there'd be more competition for his signature. He won't sign a new contract at Chelsea unless he's first choice and he'll only have a year left of his current contract next summer which will weaken Chelsea'n hand in negotiations. That's why they're willing to cash in on him now while they can still get a decent price and won't want to loan him out again
 
AS for the World Cup, saying he had a poor one is a misnomer to me. Depends on the system being played, did the other players give him chances or were they to busy glory hunting?
