Would you pay £24m for Lukaku?

What is the maximum you'd pay for Rom?

Slightly more comprehensive table of some of the great goal scorers of the last 15-20 years or so and their goal records on the day they turned 21:

On a less positive note, this is the front cover of today's Tuttosport

If true, I would imagine that would be the nail in the coffin for us with Lukaku. That move would give him everything he's been talking about wanting, regardless of the fact that their coach has just left.

Except first team football as they have Vucinic, Tevez, Llorente and are about to sign Morata.

I'm a realist and know how Everton work, if you think anything else your a fool , history proves this.
Oh please. Have a bit of Bobby Martinez style optimism about this Blue revolution. What will be, will be - but I think we'll get Rom. If for any reason it doesn't happen then never mind eh - Roberto will get us someone else who we'll make a superstar.

You could argue that Lukaku's physique sets him apart from most young strikers. He's massive, fully-developed. He can't be brushed off the ball like many young strikers.

On top of that, the top three there - Fowler, Owen and Kluivert - had their best days as young strikers. The older they got, the worse they got. We don't want Lukaku ending up in that bracket.

I still think there's value in comparison with other young strikers, though. Lukaku's not lacking in physical development, but he needs time to mature his technique and gain experience.

I thought the same about four of the top five peaking early.

It'll be interesting to see how Kone and Yakubu compare with the others on that list once they've officially turned 21.
