Would you pay £24m for Lukaku?

What is the maximum you'd pay for Rom?

If Juve are really in for him then we need to start looking at other targets

Like when Arsenal were in for Mirallas ? It's more than just the club's position in world football, if it wasn't he'd be staying at Chelsea. He wants to start 90% of games. That won't happen at a club that already has three high level strikers.

Should have done that some time ago, cant believe we are still waiting on him to make his mind up its obvious we are his last resort and while we wait other targets will be going elsewhere, kone, naismith and potentially troare as our strikeforce!!,thats awful.

Not that obvious. The kids on holiday. Well was on holiday. Might still be.

Tuttosport's choice of font for their name makes me take anything they say with a grain of salt, and I don't read Italian so that knocks me down to: an italian newspaper with a silly fonted name ran a front page picture of lukaku.

If Juve ink Morata, how is Juve a better place for Lukaku than Chelsea? Except if Jose has well and truly closed that door already.

If I'm Lukaku, the question I'm trying to answer is: what is the quickest way of getting over that last bump in the road to proving myself as a first team striker for a giant club?

If my answer is fighting to win the first teamer spot at Chelsea or Juve then Everton won't ever trump that.

If my answer is that I want to showcase myself for a year or two as a guaranteed first teamer in a top league (like someone mentioned before) before making the jump to a giant club of my choosing, then I'd pick Everton.

Hard choice, really. My huge bias aside, I'd go with Everton because then if I don't completely fulfill my enormous potential right away I'm still the top guy and getting match time to polish my game for the duration of my contract. Being the 2nd or 3rd choice at Chelsea or Juve means that my window to turn my potential into reality is quite a bit shorter and if I don't make good right away I'm riding a lot of bench. Possibly get labeled a flop for being good, not great.

That's how I talk myself into thinking EFC is a possibility. Not a probability, mind you, but a possibility.

So how come no one else wants Lukaku yet we do so badly

Because realistically we are the best team not in the CL available to him. Most of the big CL teams have established star strikers. He is the kind of potential we should be looking to sign if we want to push for top 4.

Does it matter that other clubs aren't openly knocking down his door?

If he signs and others weren't interested does that make him a bad player?

If he signs for someone else and we miss out does that make him a better player?

All that matters is that he signs for us.
