Would you sign Welbeck? (rumoured to be wanting out of OT)

I don't think he's as bad as is being made out. His goals record isn't magnificent but he's been deployed left wing for a lot of the time. I think he's got a decent all round game but makes the odd cock up, who doesn't. I think he would surprise a few people. He always looks decent playing for England as well.

I'd love to have him dependant on the price. No to Cleverly though.

I said it after he signed for Arsenal. This will turn out to be a good signing for Arsenal this. Wenger has a knack of getting a good return on a player like Welbeck. He fits there system just right. It will be interesting to see what happens when Giroud comes back but Welbeck will score quite a few goals this season. 20 in all competitions is certainly in his locker in that Arsenal team and how they play.

In no way shape or form am i comparing the two (ridiculous) but Wenger got the best out of Thierry Henry when he was a struggling at Juventus after being played on the wing. Certain systems and styles suit certain players and i think Welbeck could start to reap dividends there. Wenger signed Henry when he was 23, with a raw talent and very inconsistent. That changed under Wenger. I think the same could happen with Welbeck over time.

so hes scored a couple of goals v galatasary , lets see what he does in the premiership playing upfront , if he scores 15-20 goals then we can say its a good signing, its a massive difference playing for arsenal who create bags of chances than signing for us who of late create nowt of note, welbeck would be getting the same stick lukaku is now if he had signed for us

he scored 6 in 28 games playing upfront for sunderland, lukaku was playing for equally a poor side as sunderland 2 seasons ago and scored how many?

Is he being played as a striker for Arsenal? @Gooner @Gooner19

He is for now at least until Giroud gets back.

I thought he would be good for them but he was never an option for us. He wouldn't play as a backup to our record signing and would choose them over us.

He will give Sturridge competition for his English place.

Why does it have to be comparisons all the time ? It means nothing. Every player is different. Some hit the ground running, others don't. For example; Ian Wright was a nobody when he was a 22/23 year old. He came from absolute no where.

Sometimes it just clicks with a team. But seriously these comparisons of stats is rather silly

but if welbeck came here at 16 million and never hit the ground running he would be getting as much stick as lukaku is, we cant afford for 16 million pound players to not hit the ground running, were fast making comparisons when it suits us and is to our advantage, like the comparisons we made with lukaku and every young top strikers in europe, he was top ahead of the likes of messi neymar etc for goals scored for his age and we jumped on it, but now its forgotten because hes not playing very well
