Would you sign Welbeck? (rumoured to be wanting out of OT)

but if welbeck came here at 16 million and never hit the ground running he would be getting as much stick as lukaku is, we cant afford for 16 million pound players to not hit the ground running, were fast making comparisons when it suits us and is to our advantage, like the comparisons we made with lukaku and every young top strikers in europe, he was top ahead of the likes of messi neymar etc for goals scored for his age and we jumped on it, but now its forgotten because hes not playing very well
But those that are making the comparisons are the very minority and the beauts. The same beauts who are on Lukaku's back now after being asked to play a position that he really has no business playing. Its wrong on all fronts.

well lets see at the end of the season and see his goal stats in the premiership, stats are all we have to go on and comparisons are made right through football its a part of the game now. untill welbeck has played 20+ prem games for arsenal we shouldnt even be saying we should of signed him, should of signed that ulloa at leicester for 8 million then.

Where has anyone said we should of signed him ? i said he fits in well with ARSENAL and their playing style and how wenger will get the best out of him. Thats my opinion.

Stats are all that we go on ? Thats just the very very basics and doesn't tell the whole picture. Would you of signed Diego Forlan after he left Utd ? My guess is that you probably wouldn't have touched him, given his stats in the premier league. We all know what he did after he left Utd though. So stats don't tell the whole picture.

He is for now at least until Giroud gets back.

I thought he would be good for them but he was never an option for us. He wouldn't play as a backup to our record signing and would choose them over us.

He will give Sturridge competition for his English place.

Defo. Thats true with any striker, give them what they want, its all ego. Van Persie, Rooney, Van Nistelirooy. Tevez. Giroud - all have Egos, and want to play up top.

Never understood why he was thrown out on the wing at UTD and England.

of course not because his stats and perfomances in the premiership were shocking, he didnt suit the premiership obviously. thats why nobody would sign him , but players like welbeck whos stats playing for utd are flawed as he played mainly wide, so we look at his stats when he has played upfront regularly and for sunderland they were poor. and stats are not the very very basics there a massive part of the game now, assists goals tackles crosses etc are all we get hit with now. look at carrols stats at newcastle and downings at villa , downing was at the top for crosses and chances created so liverpool spent a fortune based on downing and carrols stats thinking they would be a hit and we saw what came of that. teams do use stats as a large part of transfer targets

What are you looking for stats wise in an attacking midfield player ?

goals and assists in an attacking player, not interested in pass completion its false, but im not a manager i havent got a clue what the hell they look for now, they probably use fifa 15 lol, only stat im interested in is goals because anything else doesnt win you games

Does Fernando Torres suit the premier league ? Lets have a look at your stats for Torres and compare his Liverpool and Chelsea careers. But you would of signed Torres from Liverpool with those stats yes ?

Its the basics. The very basics. You can look at stats but it only gives you the basics of the kind of player that person is.

Goals and assists from your attacking mid ?

How many assists does Barkley have ? Wank that Ross lad.

Like i said, it doesn't tell the whole picture.

but every player who signed from werever is based on a stat of some sort, you sign a striker because of his goal stats etc, people were saying welbeck will do this and that but only stat we have to go on playing upfront is at sunderland were there poor , you also base a player on his performances , you dont have to solely judge a player on one thing or another, and you just using one example, if you think stats are not a big part of the game then thats fine we will just have to agree to disagree. to be honest stats are one the biggest thing in sport now and if you think there not important and just using barkley as an example then thats upto you
