Anichebe is good enough to fill in.

If only. His ability to score against weaker Uefa sides only implies he might have a career ahead of him in the championship. If he was going to do make it in the premiership he'd have shown greater ability in front of goal by now.
I've said before that he lacks the poacher instinct and might be better off using his physical presence and holding skills further back in say a DM role.

Emile Heskey isn't a goalscorer, he cops fine in the Premier League. Lots of other players aswell who aren't poachers but contribute in other areas.

His hold up play has improved dramatically as has his touch. He's only 20 years old and has alot of time to improve. I'm sure he could fill in if he's given enough support by the midfielders.

He doesn,t score much now but that wasn't always the case.

154 games for Leicester up to age 22 - scored 40
So a goal every four games - same as he achieved at Liverpool over the next four years.
I think if Vic was going to manage that sort of average we'd have seen more evidence by now. I agree he's still young has room to improve but I still thing he'd be better advised developing other areas of his game and dropping back down the park.

Victor's goal to game ratio is actually pretty good, better than Heskey's at that age actually.

Devastated. I'm gonna miss the Yak, I love watching him play and seeing what sneaky [Poor language removed] he can pull off in each game:(

Big Vics time to step up and he knows it. He had one great shot at goal today I thought, when he took it on his left from the corner of the area. More of that, but in the net and its all good. I think hes got the potential to do it.

Bad news to be sure but not the end of the world.

Anichebe up front with Cahill just in behind him.

We'll have to sign someone on loan for sure but I'm confident in Anichebe and now he's got the opportunity he's been waiting for.

This is certainly Anichebe's chance. I think he'll take his chance and play well in the 4-5-1 formation.

"Yak's injury is the best Christmas present I could have hoped for"

This is what an Evertonian said on the RadioCity phone in.(n)
