Well this squad is very different to 2yrs ago and the league is very average the bottom 3 are worst in prem history. And that squad we have should be nowhere near to relegation , he had luck with injuries, his go to 13/14 players all played or were available for over 30 of the 38 league games. A competent manager should be easily getting over 40 points and that’s what dyche is a competent manager. And we scored half our goals from set pieces, there no guarantee we do that again next season
2 years ago we had and lost Richarlison, Mina, Gordon, Digne, Allan, Iwobi, Gray and Townsend.

Since then we net spent -60m and significantly lowered our wage bill…

Some of the hype from establishing himself in the Burnley team was probably justified. He did really well as a teenager and played a lot. Him not getting picked up by the top clubs is a testament to good scouting, as I am sure he would have left Burnley early if he had his breakthrough 10-15 years ago.

Not sure why he should be moved away from his current position. Dyche for sure loves his defensive output. Offensively he is at his best when running with the ball. He'll not get as much space to do that centrally.

The idea of moving him centrally and get in a more exciting winger I get, but remember that this new and more exciting winger will be told do what McNeil does. Focus on defending. Sit on top of the full back. Act as a full back against top opposition to allow Mykolenko to move in as an extra CD.

If Dyche wanted more on the final third he would at least have considered to play Danjuma or Gray.
McNeil is only 24 to be fair. Expecting home to break through 10-15 years ago is a bit harsh (if you talking about McNeil !)
