Alan Pardew is not the man to improve players. He's a poor manager of about Martinez level in my estimation.

Comes in gets the squad up for it in the short term but can't sustain it.

While I agree I do think there are certainly faults in Bolasie's game. However, he's shown he can still have a big impact on a season and in a better team and yes, under a better manager, should improve.

20m would be too much. Jordan Ibe cost 15m, he's probably a bit above his level. About 17m would be right. He's 28 soon so no chance of selling him on for a profit/getting our money back on him in 3 years once his pace has deteriorated. Awful signing.

It seems the players we have linked with or signed are 27+. Some poster said why should we worry about the sale on value of the new players? Well we used to operate in that way. Maybe somthing has changed now as Moshiri came in but are we going to have the same budget like this summer in the future?

Ibe is a 3-4m quid player in any market mate, done absolutely nothing in the game except hit the woodwork in a derby, as for Bolasie being 28 soon (you mean he is 28 on may 24th - so not until after this season finishes.

I think we'll agree that on his day Bolasie is unplayable and terrifies teams. From what I've seen Townsend is also on his day pretty unplayable.

The difference here then is their consistency in all the other games in the season. For me it's currently very much swings-and-roundabouts.

I think Townsend looks more gracious and composed on the ball, whereas Yannick in the mainstay looks more gangly and unnatural.

Basically, I think ourselves and Palace fans will find out this season who is the better player as up to now I'm not sure and neither inspire me.

well we went in with a first bid of 18m so it seems Everton would agree with you. However, Palace turned us down and since RK wanted him we've improved our offer (like with Williams). It's a mad market and you have to pay over the odds on occasions.

And he's not 28 until May, btw. And why the hell are you so obsessed with re-sale? It's irrelevant.

I'm not worried by he signign of him mate in itself, the worrying thing for me is that it shows we have switched the calibre of player we are after down a massive step.

Bolasie as an addition to some genuinely quality players arriving - then yeah i'd be all for it, would give us options, a natural left winger etc, but Bolasie as one fo the big signings we will make this summer - nah -/ So yeah dissappointed in him - but We finish the window signing say a few more players we are linked with (Kone etc) get a couple of younger lads in from abroad as a punt (Ziyech etc) and then seal a Mata and Strootman/Carvalho/Witsel type signing and a genuinely top level keeper then Bolasie for me then becomes a pretty ok deal
