I'm not arsed about idiots celebrating it.
I don't think there are that many.
What does baffle me is people who think that he won't be a miss.
Regardless of what you think of him (and a lot of the 'hate' - for lack of a better term - is based on pre-conceived ideas because of his price tag), he's been our best and most consistent attacker this season.
Please tell me, these people who are saying he won't be missed, who do they think is ready or has shown the form/ability in the past 12 months to step up and create for us?
Del? - Sorry, but he played like a kid the other night. And I don't mean like Tom Davies either. I know he has all the talent and potential but I'm not convinced he's got the aptitude. Hopefully he proves me wrong.
Kev? - Thought he looked sharper as the game wore on the other day, but when has he ever been consistent either?
Barks? - Who knows what's up with the lad.
Lennon... Cleverley...
While Bolasie is by no means the greatest of players he is a player that the manager likes, trusts and most importantly fits the system and pressing style.
The positive on this is that we will have to find a different way of playing, so hopefully his replacement(s) step up and it sparks us into life.
Other than that, this just extenuates the need to have signings ready to come in in the first two weeks of Jan.
That's not a real argument. It's the same fallacy as saying "who could we replace Moyes/Martinez/<Insert Manager Here> with - you find a way and move on. If Bolasie was a top tier player like Messi, yeah you'd have a point, but he's not.
As for "form/ability in the past 12 months" - Bolasie hasn't had that either, and you can't compare the form of any other winger because they quite simply haven't been played in the same way Bolasie has; in a system set up to get him the ball.
I genuinely would prefer Deulofeu and Mirallas to Bolasie, and honestly in a different system I'd prefer Lennon - I think we can set up more effectively than hoofball to a crap winger and start not playing like the donkeys we've been in recent months.
He won't be a miss, because we'll change the way we play and bring better players to fit a system in January and the summer. And even if he was a key player, which he really isn't, he would have been out for over a month anyway soon and we've already blown any chance of achieving anything notable in the league anyway, so we may as well take this time to rebuild.
