2017/18 Yannick Bolasie

I'll honest, I'm far from a big fan of Yannick, largely down to his lack of consistency - something a run of games might address - and the fact that most of the time he appears not to have any real idea of what he's going to do next.

Now this makes him a nightmare to play against, but probably a nightmare to play with as how do you devise a gameplan to accommodate an utter maverick ??

All that said, I thought he worked his tripe off today and he DID make things happen.

Baines will win the MotM vote, but for his sheer effort and utter unpredictability that worked in our favour today, I gave my vote to YB.

Today it looked like he had some of the acceleration that had been missing since his return. Hopefully he stays fit and continues to improve. Always liked his attitude and passion.

Anyone knocking him understands football completely.

He just isn't very good, never has been. As for not criticising? Should we get behind Fat Sam? No we shouldn't, he's not good enough, and nor is Bolasie.

Ok mate. When he played in that front 3 of him, Rom, Gerry. He was very effective. Check his stats in those games.

Players who are quick, strong, tricky create space for others. Once up to speed, he’s a great out ball too. Like Walcott has been on other side.

He’s not a top top drawer player but he’s far better then your giving him credit for.

You shouldn’t be judging him on the now either. Absolute horror of an injury to recover from. He needs time & a pre season

Everything changed for him once the goal went in. He was just about to be subbed. With a good squad he should be nowhere near it, but in our state maybe we have to put up with him. I was pleased though at his reaction to his change of fortune today. The booing was from Brighton fans in the second half. There were plenty of calls from the paddock area for his substitution in the second half, until everything changed.

Loads of criticism about Bolasie but surely the basic point is that he is getting back to full fitness after a terrible
injury. On the plus side he has a physical presence, actually got in the box and gave it a go unlike Miralles for example.
Still lots of errors and he still looks a bit slower but the complainers may well be eating humble crow next season when
he gets back to fitness.
