I was talking about past records not future ones. I don’t recall him rmissing many international games, yet he misses far too many Everton games. It’s frustrating as he’s by far our best centre-half. But if he’s unavailable for so many games it’s pretty pointless keeping him unfortunately. The state we are in we need our best players week-in week-out and that’s not the case with Yerald. Sad, but that’s how it is.
Well I’m Colombian and follow the NT faithfully so I can tell you that he has also missed games for Colombia in the past. And while I understand your frustration, I don’t think your statement that he is unavailable for us for many games to be accurate either. According to the chart above (I’m sorry it posted that way but for some reason my pics are not wanting to post on the right spot) he has missed a total of 45 games from 2018-2021. At the premier league, currently, teams are playing 380 matches per season. So let’s say in the past 3 seasons there has been an average of 1,140 matches played. Thus in reality Mina has only missed about 4% of Everton matches. For me, given the quality he brings to the team, doesn’t seem like far too many games. Would I want him to always be fit, surely. But we must not forget that players are not machines. Playing that many matches per season can be grueling on the body.

I would say that he's probably unavailable for 20-30% of our games which means he's probably available for 70-80%.

In my book that makes him regularly available rather than regularly unavailable.

When he plays he is far and away our best defender and if we sell him we would not attract a better defender to Everton.
After doing some math it seems the past 3 seasons he has only been unavailable 4% of matches in my book that’s much better than 20% :p;) btw, Fred you must stay away from the Everton threads, you are better off at my recipe thread lol

But he manages them, is that a new unwritten rule that manages can’t manage players unless they’ve bought them??

How has anyone ever survived before
The mentality of these players has been an issue under 3/4 managers. How is Benitez supposed to give them a new mentality? He can tell them to get into good organisation, but if they cant collectively as a defence be disciplined or composed enough to do it he's pissing into the wind.

Only Mina has discipline and composure. That's appalling.

It could be said Dave that is why we need a clearout and bring in new faces.

After being corrected on the number of matches by my good friend @Barnfred 55 it seems Yerry has actually missed 40% of matches, way higher than my previous calculations and reason to be concerned if one looks at the 3 seasons together. But 33 of those matches missed were during his first season with Everton. Last season he missed 13% of matches. Hopefully this season he manages to stay healthy after his current injury. Regardless, I still think that he is worth offering a new contract to.

380 matches per season?, Even the Six Million Dollar man would struggle with that
