For me the thing with Dowell isn't so much consistency on a week by week basis, it's on an in-game basis. He doesn't involve himself in the game very much in my opinion, but he is capable of doing things which make you get off your seat. One week there'll be a moment or 2 when he does something and fans come away saying he's a genius and give him 9/10, the next week it doesn't come off and he gets 5/10 despite his overall performance being virtually identical.

Hopefully the loan will help him to come out of his shell and stamp his authority on games a bit more.

Any injury with ligament always sounds nasty but the 6 weeks out doesn't sound that bad. Hopefully he gets back sooner rather than later.

Basically means a sprain if it's only the ligaments. The vast majority clear up quickly with the right treatment and rehab.

The performance from Dowell last night is why he is loaned out.
He isn't ready yet to play premiership football , he may never be unless he can get consistency into his game.
The loan to Forest is perfect for him and gives him the chance to develop certain aspects of his game.
Could he play premiership football with Everton this season ? , I don't think he is even close to ready.

He had far too many anonymous games for the U23's. I love what he can do I just feel you don't deserve to be talked about like an Everton first teamer if you can't dominate youth football.

He'd be a passenger the majority of the time playing in our first XI and with the way fitness and pressing have ramped up lately we can't afford to carry even one player like you used to be able to.
