Championship
Bolton Wanderers - Antonee Robinson played full match in 3-1 home win over Barnsley

OS Match Report

Twitter stuff
Barnsley try their luck down the right-hand side again, eventually winning a free-kick. After an initial scramble, @Antonee_Jedi boots clear. (3)
Gary Madine recovers possession after heading @Antonee_Jedi's cross across goal, before drilling straight at Adam Davies. (19)
Great cross from @Antonee_Jedi as he searches for Gary Madine at the far post only to see the Barnsley man steal it off the forward's head. (45)

No real fan comments about him.

Barnsley - Joe Williams started, was booked and substituted in the 91st minute of the same match

OS Match Report
"Fellow substitute Mamadou Thiam lashed just wide from the middle of the area and fired at Alnwick again when he was slipped in by Joe Williams."

Twitter stuff
37 - Ameobi booked for pushing Williams over.
60 - Yellow cards this time to Vela and Williams despite the Bolton man seemingly being the one doing the fouling

Fan comment
"Williams our best player doing his job well enough."

Ipswich Town - Callum Connolly played full match, scored and was booked in 4-2 home win over Nottingham Forest

OS Match Report
"Town didn’t have to wait long for the breakthrough though. Seven minutes in, Waghorn’s free-kick was only half saved by Jordan Smith and Connolly was first to react."
"Ward blazed over from a good position after Connolly set him up"

Twitter stuff
PERFECT START! Waghorn's free-kick is saved by Smith, but he pushes only as far as Connolly who fires into the empty net! 1-0 to the Blues!
Huws does well to find Connolly who then picks out Ward in acres of space, but his first-time shot is way over the top
86' @Callum1connolly goes into the book for a trip on Lichaj. Harsh...

Fan comments
"The Midfield again held their own and battled hard with Connolly & Skuse solid, Connolly's arrival into the team has definitely helped Skluse's game too and this pairing seems to be growing"
"Connoly also put the shift in"

Nottingham Forest - Kieran Dowell played full match, scored and was booked in same match

OS Match Report
"Forest were dominating possession and on 29 were level through a moment of brilliance from Dowell. Both Walker and Ben Osborn were involved with the set-up of the free kick, teeing it up for Dowell to bend an effort over the wall and into the far corner of the net."

Twitter stuff
31' Ipswich 1-1 #NFFC: Kieran Dowell curls a sumptuous free-kick beyond Bartosz Bialkowski and into the corner of the Ipswich net.
45' Ipswich 2-2 #NFFC: Kieran Dowell is shown a yellow card for a late challenge on Dominic Iorfa.

Fan comments
"The lad is class, and without him we'd be struggling this year like we did last year. Please send him back next year"
"Carries a lot of our offensive threat on his shoulders. The only player to consistently cope with pressure & keep us moving forwards."
"His decision making has improved loads over the last few months. I had mixed feelings about him after the first 10 games - he was okay but wasn't creating much, the last 10 he has been our best performer."

Sunderland - Tyias Browning played full match in 1-3 home defeat to Reading
Brendan Galloway started on bench and came on in 58th minute

OS Match Report

No real comments about them.
Great to see Galloway & Browning back in action, even if they lost. It is too easy to overhype or write off young players and I feel these too have been dismissed too soon be many.

....very positive all around. It appears Dowell is adding consistency to his game, good that he’s regularly Forests best player especially as they’ve been struggling a little. It’s a sign that he’s not a ‘luxury player’.

Spoke to a Forest season ticket holder last week and he said that Dowell isn't really doing anything different now to when he was first introduced into the team but the difference now is that the rest of the team are starting to anticipate and understand what he is going to do next. He's very highly regarded as being a class above the rest of the squad.

All down to the lad himself now where his career ends up.

Yeah , I think most young players suffer a wee bit initially from other players not trusting or not sure in their abilities, e.g Kenny initially with us, and you could see early on Dowell shouting for the ball and not receiving it because he had a defender tight on him . Then a few deft flick ons to set up others when he was tightly marked , the odd wonder goal and they saw what he has.
In fairness to him though I do think he does a few things different from when he was first played, in the highlights he appears more often and more involved and plays for 90 mins, and that is a big improvement for him.

I am unsure about them both for PL quality - and my SAFC supporting mates are about Galloway...

Hasn't been in the team for weeks and was only in the squad due to McNair withdrawing with an injury in the warm up

He has been clumsy, nervy, slow and getting rings run around him. He doesn't look the same player sadly. This is the second loan he's been left as a reserve.

Browning has been better and is strong, very good physically and has been getting a run of games of late. Still, I would not be surprised if his loan was made permanent though.

Neither are PL quality at the moment in my opinion.

Yep, in addition to that Browning and also Pennington are 23 and turn 24 next year. Just don't see it happening in the PL.

Likes of Gomez at the RS, even Holgate, are better players at a younger age.

Galloway is poor and would not be surprised for his contract to expire with us and end up at Bury etc for free. Browning, if Sunderland win promotion at some point, may qualify as a PL defender accordingly though.

I shove them in the Duffy mould of could be good enough one day.

some of dowells goals for forest have been ridiculous, got a mate whos a forest supporter and he loves him ,said he's there best player since andy reid ( not that he was amazing but they loved him didn't they )

Read mixed reviews from Forest fans regarding Dowell. Some love him and think hes top quality, others say he has glimpses of magic but not often enough!

Cannot see any of them coming back to Everton and getting in the squad, think they will be put come January or Summer.

But get Dowell and ONekryu back. Think spelling is wrong.

So Callum Connelly...seems to have settled in as a holding midfielder, which isn't surprising considering his versatility was a big plus (and why I actually thought we should have kept him - I'd rather have him at LB than Martina).

I'm still convinced the lad has a future with Everton. Not necessarily as a starter, but when you can play 3 or 4 positions adequately your value to the squad is multiplied.

Anyone else agree or disagree?

...versatile players are always a great bonus in your squad, JD. remember the likes of Paul Madeley for Leeds and our very own Sandy Brown, Kevin Richardson and Alan Harper who were such valuable players for us.

Hope he's more those guys than Phil Neville... :o

I think he will have a place in the league just because of that. Those are the type of players you want on the bench for sure
