Championship
Sunderland - Tyias Browning and Brendan Galloway both played full match in 1-1 home draw with Derby County

OS Match Report
"Instead, they fell behind as Derby delivered a sucker punch with their opening attack. Johnny Russell was the architect and he beat Brendan Galloway all ends up, diving down the right before flashing the ball across goal where Johnson rifled it through the crowd and into the net."
"And they never looked back, with Derby’s man dangerman, Russell, thwarted by Galloway who grew in confidence as the game progressed."
"Jason Steele enjoyed a solid competitive debut between the sticks and was scarcely troubled following Johnson’s opener, with Ty Browning marshalling the back four and displaying a maturity beyond his years."

5' Bright start to the game by #SAFC. Nice overlap from Galloway sees him fire just wide before Vaughan has a shot diverted for a corner
(Some club Twitter feeds are better than others!)

Fan comments

"Galloway got turned by a hard working quality player ( for this league ), the ball then went through line's legs and ndong let the scorer get away from him. All of this at speed not subbuteo speed."
"Pity galloway is a cross with agboola and frank gray. Woeful."
"Galloway - 7, looks strong, keen and lively"
"Browning - 6, OK"
"Galloway cost us a goal ffs."
"Browning - 6 - better than last week, heading is a bit suspect"
"Galloway - 5 - his fault for the goal"
"browning 7 solid"
"galloway bit nervy at fault for goal 6"
"Galloway - 5, at fault for the goal, got better and battled back at the end"
"Browning - 7, no mistakes, looked physical and solid"
"Galloway was at fault for the goal and was switching off in defence all game."
"Galloway - pacy but raw - 5"
"Browning - raw but clearly has ability - 6"

Nottingham Forest - Kieran Dowell started on bench and came on in 59th minute of 1-0 home win over Millwall

OS Match Report
"The introduction of Kieran Dowell for his first appearance in a red shirt added some impetus to the Forest attack, linking up well with Zach Clough on a couple of occasions to come close to doubling the advantage."

Twitter stuff
75' #NFFC 1-0 Millwall: Superb one-two between Kieran Dowell and Zach Clough but the latter's shot is blocked away by Millwall.
84' #NFFC 1-0 Millwall: Kieran Dowell comes inches away from making it 2-0 but his shot whistles past the right-hand post.
89' #NFFC 1-0 Millwall: George Saville is shown a yellow card for a high challenge on Kieran Dowell.

Fan comments
"Dowell looked very comfortable on the ball and looked to make an impression. I've no doubt he'll be an asset for us this season."
"Dowell looked very lively in the short time he had on the pitch and will be a great option."
"You remember that time we had Aaron Ramsey on loan and you could see instantly that he was a different class...
Step forward Kieran Dowell. Came on at about 60 mins and the game changed significantly. Everything constructive went through him. Such a deft touch and silky skills. My Everton friends assure me we've temporarily l, at least, stolen a gem from them. I agree. Not sure if you play him on his own or with Clough but I think the dynamism that our midfield hasn't got is solved with this chap. An excellent debut for me."
"Very good technically. Will need to adapt very quickly to physical demands of the championship because he was dispossessed a lot for his short cameo. Will be played in behind striker in my opinion. Clough on the bench after another game in which he contributed nothing."
"I think Dowell bought out the best in Clough when he came on, looked like a different player all together. Would be interesting to see them both start"
"Dowell - 7/10. Looked a fantastic talent - bullied off the ball a few times but very bright and talented"

Watched the Sunderland match. Galloway looks like someone lacking in confidence at the minute, and you can understand why given he was in the wilderness at WBA last year. He continues to allow attackers to run off him and get in behind the defence, something he was also culpable of when we was in WBA's team. Maybe he's guilty of switching off? Not sure if Sunderland has any cover at left back, but he'd better improve or be withdrawn out the side again. That being said, I'm not giving up on him and I'm backing him to improve.

Browning had an unspectacular game, but prevented Derby from going 2-0 up when he put in a last gasp challenge to thwart a tap in which resulted from their keeper spilling a save. Again, 100% behind him to improve his performances. He's in a new back four that needs to gel if Sunderland have any chance at promotion. Sunderland as a team look like it will take some time for all their new players to bed in. About half their starting XI are new signings.

It looks like Onyekuru won't start next match.

He gave another set of interviews. Nothing spectacular. Very short summary (not including standard media talk like: "I want to play, I felt I could change the game but I need the permission of the manager to do that etc...):

From all the teams that were interested, Arsenal was the biggest team but PSG was the most persistent. He did their medical tests but they only gave him two hours to decide and they didn't tell him their future plans - hence he didn't sign for them. Oh and he looks forward to playing with Rooney. There are stories emerging that RSCA has an option to extend the loan for another year (he says he's not aware of that option).

Barnsley - Joe Williams played full match in 1-3 away defeat to Bristol City

OS Match Report

No Twitter mentions on official feed.

Fan comments
"Williams will start - Hecky said that after Rotherham game. And on that showing he has to because he was the best player we had"
"Williams . loads of mistakes but could see he was trying to orchestrate things. 6"
"Williams 2 - Willing lad, would have been more suited to the schoolboy game in the nearby park. Regularly bundled off the ball as a physical insignificance. Slow, but like lightning compared to M&M."

(Another former EFC youth player in this game with Adam Davies, the Barnsley keeper...)

Can finally see now why we haven't given up on Pennington yet, looks a different player with this drop down a level. Keeps this up and this will be a very good loan move for him.

Sadly just limped off after falling heavily on his ankle.

Looked painful but hopefully nothing too serious.

The bits I saw of Pennington when popping in and out he looked very sound and able to pick the right pass out of defence. Shame he twisted/sprained his ankle, hopefully not too serious. Leeds look a decent Championship team , if they are pushing top six it will be great experience for him. More Jags than Stones but that's ok , a big season ahead.
