Come on Papa spill the beans, it was either the 5-0 drubbing at Anfield or the 0-5 hammering at Goodison depending how old you are, it was definitely a Derby game.I don't want to talk about it.
Lets just say it was the worst possible result.
Amongst others.
Fresh off an Umbro cup pre-season win, lots thought wed do well.
John O'Kane, Farrelly, Carl Tiler, Claus Thomson said otherwise!
That’s mine too, it was difficult to work out as both Speed and Stuart scored in the 2-1 win the year before23rd August 1997
Everton 2 West Ham 1
I was only little at the time. Only realise now how lucky I was to have actually seen the likes of Neville Southall, Gary Speed, Duncan Ferguson, Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard play that day
Also got to see a rare Danny Williamson start
Yup, the Goodison one. That was my first Everton game. Should have jacked it in then.Come on Papa spill the beans, it was either the 5-0 drubbing at Anfield or the 0-5 hammering at Goodison depending how old you are, it was definitely a Derby game.
I think both games in the initial Floodlight Cup were in 1957, 2-0 at Goodison 2-3 at Anfield so we won the cup on aggregate 4-3, we played in royal blue silk shirts in both games, the players must have been sweating bleedin’ cobs in those shirts!Sometime in the early 1950's, taken by my dad to a Liverpool Floodlit Cup game!
