Your 1st game.

Strangely don’t remember it very well at all but my old man always said my first game was the cup draw with Coventry on New Year’s Eve 1983, I always insist I went to a few games before that but was just a little kid. Think the attendance was below 15,000 and we stunk, little did I know what was to come just weeks later …

Think it was Billy Wright missed the pen and they scored the only goal a minute or two later.
Yes you could be right I was 7. I had a feeling they scored just after the pen but wasn’t sure, I remember all the fans banging the wooden seats on the build up to the pen. Ipswich’s kit was smart white shirt black shorts
PS good memory mate

65/66 v Blackpool. Got beat 1-0. My uncle took me. Funny enough my arl fella took me to Analfield last game of the season also against Blackpool and RS got beat 3-1. Blackpool got relegated too. But I had already been chosen. A certain Mr Ball was playing for them then. Just before we signed him

West Ham home 69/70 - 2-0, Ball and Husband.
My Dad and Uncle took me to their usual spot in the ground - it was the year the main stand was half built and we stood in the old part of the Goodison Road stand. We got there early so I could soak it all in - how green the pitch was, how small it looked because of the towering double-decker stands. I was so small I saw little of the game but remember how red Alan Ball's hair was - only seen it on black and white TV.

A pathetic 0-2 defeat at home to Southampton in the mid/late 90s.

Sat pretty much eye level with the players socks in the Family Enclosure (sure it was sponsored by McDonalds at the time).

Would have been around 7/8ish.

Edit: Just checked, it was ‘97 so I’d have been 6.

Everton 2 - 2 Villa. First game of 94/95 season. Stuart and Rideout for us, Fashanu and Saunders for them. Last game of that season saw some silverware, still waiting for some more.

Remember that game well. Swore I wouldn't go again after watching it, but then bought a season ticket for the second half of the season. Never understood why I changed my mind but so glad I did.

Was that the live game, think Kevin Davies scored one of them, if it’s the game I’m thinking of

A 4-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday in 1962, Roy Vernon, our captain back then, bagged a couple. It was our second home game of the season. But, our kid wouldn't take me to the first game, against Utd. because he thought the crowd would be too big for his 9 year old little brother. He was right too, there were just under 70,000 people at Goodison for the Utd game.

It was a great time to start watching the blues, I miss those times and I miss the brothers I shared them with.
