Not at our course they don’t. Miserable arl ones make you wait behind them while they try and hit the green with a 3-wood from 250 yards away.

Playing golf on your own is boss, though.

Where do you play? Seriously they don’t let you play through? it’s been in the rules of most of the places I’ve played. The most annoying thing for me is when I catch it I can launch it. I’ve had a few drives in the 340s on a course so when I wait for people then a group come behind me and I duff it they must think why is that lad waiting till they’re 300+ yards away and I feel like an idiot.

Edit. Just to add I’ve been playing just over a year so I don’t have that great consistency in my striking so I’m not getting it that far that often but still you can’t just fire it down there and hope you don’t kill somebody

I can tell you that I'm not at my happiest during an organisational away day sat with a table of similarly bored / surely / cynical staff from different teams expected to come up with stuff we can do to make work better.

When you see your 4-5-6yr old just go absolutely bananas over the countdown to Christmas and then watching them unwrap gifts on Christmas morning.

Indeed, only surpassing by watching my own kids enjoy the build up and magic ! Nearly twenty now and still fleece me and I still love it.

Love playing with my mates but I think I prefer having a solo round. Time to take your shots, you’re like a VIP on the course, everyone lets you play through. Only problem is when you play well and there’s nobody there to see it.
