Simon Davies. A player we didn't need was our big summer signing in 2005 for £4.5m when we'd just finished 4th. Surely we could've attracted better?

Leon Osman played in a similar position and was a far better player yet he was benched for this waster from Spurs. Davies was a huge whipping boy during his 18 months here and flogged for half what we paid for him.

He was the invisible man in every game he played for us. Joke of a signing.

I think Davies was 3M. Kind of a dollar store version of Baines. I don't think we ever won when he started. He had a cross in him and was decent at corners but that was Arteta's job. Prob just a bad fit because did alright at Fulham even tho I didn't notice him doing anything different.

Klordup did alright in Italy playing as a defender who didn't defend much but contributed in the attack.

What's funny is everything I read from neutrals about VanDerMeyde was that he was an incredible signing and was going to be ace.

Beattie, to me, came across as a tit. His patches of form usually coincided with him talking up making the England squad and/or a tournament. Never got the impression doing his best for EFC was enough to motivate him.

Nah, Ghost well and truly lives there for VFM and being absolutely symbolic of the era of wasteful largesse to other clubs coffers/players bank accounts.
