Maybe Gravesen and McFadden re-signing, Anthony Gardner was a mess, most of the 05/06 window was a mess, Li Weifeng. Didn't we sign an ancient Ginola once?

I thought Drenthe was a good loan at the time.
We spent nothing that window iirc, Cahill had left, Saha not scoring, Drenthe and Straq on loans. Really grim period until Jelavic in january.

Klaassen was really foolish though, esp when we had been chasing Sigurdsson all summer.

I dont think I need to elaborate too much, John Collins does not belong in a conversation on top 20 Everton worst/stupidest signings list..
A quick search gives numerous lists of our worst signings Collins isn't on any of them... putting Collins on a list that includes these players
