Confirmed Signing Youssef Chermiti

I feel like if we’re taking a punt this big we could’ve just saved a little cash and give Simms a real chance? This has to be at least as big a shot in the dark. Yes he’s well younger but he’s also well less proven imo.

This lad seems theoretically better suited to Dyche ball I guess. However the wisdom of signing players with that in mind is questionable.
He isn’t going to shag you mate.

Let’s be frank this is just a desperation move to say we’ve bought someone

There’s no pedigree whatsoever to be drawn upon

Very low percentage signing
The unknown is the exciting bit.

Having pedigree has let us down so many times

Posts of no real substance, eg sarcastic digs
Haven't you cottoned on yet that few posts on GOT have any real substance? There are the abusive argumentative posts, the deliberately pessimistic ones to goad a reaction, others attempt humour to lighten the mood, quotations from social media rubbish. Maybe just a few substantive ones. Where do you fit in?

Looks class this lad.. early prediction he bags 15+ goals for us this season
He looks a great prospect, and an exciting signing but reality is he won’t be bagging loads of goals this season.
He’ll get a couple and then get written off probably.
He’s really young still… problem is, he’s not the saviour for this season…

Barely played, scored a high level PL goal.

I’m more intrigued by what he did at Sunderland tbh. We didn’t use him enough here to draw conclusions. It’s not a discussion for now but what the real issue is here is why should we expect this lad is now going to get the chance Simms didn’t? Or tbh Kean didn’t before him? Hell we even tried really hard to block DCL by bringing crap like Tosun and Sandro in. We need to change that part as much as which prospect it is.

….you might not have seen enough of Simms but the Manager and coaches did because they see him every day. The fact that Simms wasn’t used in games where we desperately needed a central striker says everything. Decisions have to be made on these players and a decision was made. I fully concur with the club letting him go.

In respect of Chermiti, the club clearly think he’s significantly better. Thats the difference. The Manager will use him where he wouldn’t use Simms. Simms isn’t good enough, if Chermiti is acquired only time will tell if he is.

I think the manager is bad and don’t trust his opinion. So there you go. Now you don’t have to bring it up again.

Can we stop talking about Simms as if he’s some young prospect as well. Lad will be 23 in a few months, staying here and riding the bench helps nobody.

We’ve profited on a player we paid zilch for. A player who was deemed not good enough at a time when we needed a forward (any forward) desperately.

Not to say he won’t get better. But sometimes players need to take a step back to move forward.

Youssef Chermiti though… tall in’he?!
