I'm concerned. If we don't beat West Ham, we've got a run of tricky fixtures where we will have a real risk of going 4 months without a win. 2 months without a win is bad enough.

Depends on the appeal I suppose, I mean we could find out tomorrow that we're getting points back. Anything north of 4 back really takes the pressure off.

This has been our worst spell of the season, no doubt. Even at the start of the season we were playing better but just not finishing chances.

That said, in that spell, we were somehow losing games that we'd dominated. For me, it's a positive that even though we're not playing as well, we aren't really losing games like we have been in recent seasons.

No doubt that a win just makes everything feel better, let's hope that comes next Saturday.

I'd say it's not worth going down that path, as you can't say it defo galvanised us then dismiss the suggestion that how long it is dragging out is having a negative impact on us.

Not for me. I’m not a fan of him, his football is diabolical but his points return is hard to argue with. Sacking him makes no sense at all

Iraola has come in changed Bournemouth’s style in a few months, we beat them 3-0 in October everyone laughing at him try to play out from the back and saying they’re going down .since then he’s got them to
Mid table, playing decent football, scoring more goals than us. Won 3-0 at old Trafford should have won at Newcastle.

Edwards has schooled dyche twice at goodison. I’d rather watch Luton than Everton right now. He’s done a great job considering they were going to be relegated by Christmas.

And yes if we survive with the 10 point deduction, dyche would have done a good job and fair enough to him. But surely you can’t enjoy the football. So you’re quite happy to see dyche keep the job for a few more years ? He will have us around 12th to 15th probably, but it will be this Wimbledon style football that ain’t changing. Long term it’s just crap the fans are bored out thier brains at goodison 3 wins at home and he thinks it was a good point v palace .

I want to see us have some fast young exciting players and see us go after teams scoring 3’s and 4’s and get the crowd on its feet. When was the last time we put a team under pressure for 20 minutes. That’s never going to happen with dyche.

This team cannot play attacking football.

Simply because we dont have quality in attack.

Charlie, in a world were Everton aren't strapped for cash, we have a present owner and an actual board, we have capacity to support the new manager in the summer, and the existence of the club isn't hanging in the balance. Then sure why not?

But given none of the above is true, and the fact our current manager would have already effectively had us safe but for the points deduction, I can wholeheartedly say your idea is completely insane.

The way I look at it is are we going to make Europe again/win something playing like this? No. Failing that is it at least really fun to follow the team and watch week to week? Also no. Emphatically no.

So tough for me to defend the manager on the basis of “we’re harder to beat.” We also don’t win that much. I get every possible reason someone is going to bring up for why this has to be the case right now I just don’t think it’s the best we can do even in our predicament.

Id be interested in someone explaining the difference with multiple teams and managers playing the same style of football (or similar) simply with quality attackers.

Trophies are won with great a great defence. Plus at leaat one or two attackers who can prove effective at scoring.

This team with a right winger and centre forward that can score is a different proposition.

There were/are moments where our left sided midfielder plays it out to mcneil where, had he then continued to run beyond the player who had closed him down, meant he gets a return pass from mcneil and we have gone past opposition midfield into the attacking third.
Same happens on the right side.
Presumably no encouragement in our game tactics , that the midfielder pushes on for a give it and go to break opposition lines.
The times that we have broken the midfield with the ball at feet we look uncomfortable, often choosing to play a rushed glory through ball that often goes astray or overhit.
Its generally (in my opinion) because we arent training on how to build from these promising positions. This is where dcl/beto might be encouraged to drop to receive the ball to feet, where mcneil, dacoure and harrison move to take up positions to then make something from this.
Instead the thought is always the striker playing on the defensive line looking for the through ball.
The central midfield is drilled to remain in their defensive, rigid shape and why we look so clueless going forwards.

I'd hazard a guess that dyche works very little on this element of the game, when most other premier managers work hard on this element of the game.

We don't take any risks, so we very rarely get 3pts. It's like Dyche philosophy is protect team from defeat at all costs, to ensure we leave with something. The way I look at is, there's 11 player's, he goes in with his safest 11, rather than sticking in a Chermiti or Dobbin, try something different and see if we become less predictable.

And yesterday, with a man advantage, stick an extra forward on or one with more pace upfront. If you gave him a £100 quid to play with in a casino, he'd be going home break even and spend the money to pay his gas bill. I want him to stick it on red, double up, get a few exotic dances and go home with a KFC and anyone willing.

At this point in the season I think it would be mad to replace him. If he keeps us up I'd dump him because for me this is almost reaching allardyce levels of non football, but if we go down I'd keep him as I think he's probably the most likely candidate to bring us back up.

Bournemouth have won 3 points less than us. They also haven’t won in 7 games. Luton have won 11 points less than us and have lost 3 in a row including at home against the bottom team.

I believe he is a realist and can see clearly how utterly crap we are and is using the squad accordingly. Fans don’t tend to be realists, they want full backs pushing on because that’s easy to say and to write on here and makes you sound like you know stuff, but those same comments will never take into account the defensive impact of that and whether it is a sensible decision to keep that cautious stance considering the points total on the pitch with or without the deduction has us safe or in an ok position to be safe

Perhaps he can see clearly that if we open up more we will revert back to the weak capitulations we were seeing under the previous managers. It’s probably an err on the cautious side decision and given the state of the club I’m ok with that, as crap as it is to watch.

Also the straw man arguments of those against are annoying me. I would say a very small % of fans actually like the manager and his style, in fact probably a very high % dislike him and hate the style. However the majority are absolutely ok with the job he is doing to keep us up, which doesn’t match the comments like “think he is the messiah” “can’t be criticised” “some want him here for several seasons”.

It would be a roll the dice decision to sack, and you’d have to assume those calling for it are ignoring how bad we are at those, let alone in a moment when it seems nobody is actually making the decisions.

He’s not very good. We are terrible. Keep us up please. 10 in defence if you want. Thanks.
