It's not an either/or scenario.
If bids came in for Schneiderfraud and McCarthorse they'd be out the door quicker than you can say "door". Everyone knows they are available but right now either their wages or the fee we want is putting people off. Gana has absolutely no bearing on any of that...
Can't help but agree with this.
It's hard to comprehend the idea that NOBODY in the squad gives a toss - even though it really does look that way, going by the on-field displays. Eventually a few of them will show signs of life, but there's little point in trying to add to the squad until we...
Definitely agree that the CB partnership needs looking at. Simply don't agree that Jagielka is worth a second thought at this point. If a decent CB was available in this window, I could support the idea of cancelling Zouma's loan and bringing in said hypothetical good CB.
I'm not saying Zouma has been consistently good enough (far from it).... but isn't this another instance of how having enough time away can often make a player seem less awful in the eyes of some fans? Jags is deffo, deffo finished at prem level.
Holgate has a future, and it might well be...
In the context of the remainder of this January window seeing:
1) Gana sold to PSG for a decent wedge;
2) One of McCarthorse and Schneiderlin being sold too;
3) Gomes being permanently signed and
4) Davies going out on loan:
recalling Besic would make sense.
In short, it's not happening.
Genuine question: is English your first language?
Mockery and dislike are not even close to the same thing as hate. I'm confused about how you are equating them all as meaning similar things.
I don't know of anyone who hates him mate. Most seem to think he's not up to the standard required, either in terms of skill or effort: but that's not remotely similar to hate.
Couple of other rumours caught my eye this morning:
The Star ran with a rumour that Spurs are talking to Barcelona about taking Malcom on loan as cover for Kane;
The Mirror claims that Chelsea have offered £27m for Leandro Paredes (Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder).
I hope we are at least...
Sadly I fear you are exactly right.
Fighting to get back in the starting lineup involves busting your ass in training to demonstrate, time and again, that you are the best option available to the manager AND then delivering in competitive matches when selected. If Tosun's not getting picked to...
This video suggests two things:
1) No-one should be allowed to upload a video if it includes audio they've added themselves
2) Oumar has a twin brother out there somewhere who's quite good at football
I agree 100% that Digne is an excellent player and has proved to be a very good signing... but you don't build teams around left-backs. Bayern didn't do that with Lahm, Real didn't do it with Roberto Carlos... Digne isn't at their level (yet). I'd have him as Captain before long though...
The role Gana plays in our current set up does not require him to go forward that much and when we deployed him differently (in the role now occupied by Andre Gomes) he was obviously not being used to his strengths. Wanyama plays the same role as Gana and therefore as cover or a replacement is...
To be fair to Mirallas and Sandro, they were both far cheaper than all the others you've listed there. Niasse alone cost more than both of them combined.
Please go right ahead and tell me which one of the eight players I mentioned came at a fee more than 50% different to the one cited by Transfermarkt. Pretty sure we'd all be ecstatic to find out we only paid £8m for Niasse, £14m for Bolasie or £10m for Walcott.
I'm sorry, were they better signings at a combined fee of £150m????
How about if they "only" cost £120m combined?
The point is that we have bought a LOT of mediocre players for inflated fees. And I think mediocre is putting it very kindly.
*sigh*
Already dealt with that very minor issue. In the original post I mentioned the fees were taken from Transfermarkt, AND even if they are out by 15%, it doesn't alter the fact we've wasted over £140m on eight players (two of which we've since sold on at losses).
